About the author
"Ed Rosenthal holds the distinction of turning more people on to pot than Cheech and Chong." -- Tommy Chong
"Mr. Rosenthal is the pothead's answer to Ann Landers, Judge Judy, Martha Stewart and the Burpee Garden Wizard all in one." --NY Times January 2003
Ed Rosenthal is the world’s leading expert on the cultivation of marijuana. His books have sold well over a million copies and his most recent edition of “Marijuana Grower’s Handbook” has revolutionized the field. Ed is also on the faculty of Oaksterdam University, the leading trade school for the cannabis industry. His classes teach pupils how different techniques can be used to improve the yield and efficiency of their gardens.
Ed has always been driven by a desire to develop innovative, effective, and non-toxic methods of gardening. He was one of the original American writers to travel to Holland, bringing the knowledge and sophistication of European horticulture to the U.S. through his books and Ask Ed column. While his career has focused on marijuana cultivation, he is an avid gardener of edible plants and flowers as well. Ultimately, Ed believes that no matter the plant, a gardener should never be forced to resort to using potentially dangerous means in order to enjoy a bountiful harvest.
Beyond the garden, Ed views marijuana law as a crucial social issue and has been active in promoting and developing policies of civil regulation. In 2003 he was tried in Federal Court for cultivation in a trial where the jury was not allowed to hear that he was deputized by the City of Oakland to provide marijuana for patients. His trial shifted public opinion in favor of state medical marijuana laws.
His best-selling titles include; The Big Book of Buds series, Marijuana Garden Saver, Best of Ask Ed, and Marijuana Grower's Handbook, among others.

First his style of writing is impressive, he teaches you like you don't know even the most basic things and so he starts you off with a nice rounded basic education of the subject and then expands on it again and again and by the time he is done with the topic you feel like you still understand what he's saying when he gets to the complex aspects and parts of it. I never once felt like I was lost reading his book, in fact I actually suddenly had to stop and apply what I just learned from him to other books information which left me feeling lost, so I could finally grasp other information I had. I went into reading this book with questions that I haven't been able to answer from other books and from things I've read and learned over the years, but that nobody else has ever really had an answer for, and yet before I finished this book I had those answers and I don't have any more questions.
It really has made me want to look into going to one of his classes or one of his seminars because he really brings it to the table for everyone to learn and understand and walk away really having a firm understanding of everything you really want and need to know and then some. I've read some of his other books and this book really holds up to being a 'Growers Handbook'... I wished I would have started here with this book and then browsed other authors because I wouldn't have wasted my money reading other's works when he really covered everything is a down to earth light that anyone and everyone can follow and read. Truly the best book on the subject I've read to date!
This book is amazing and filled with so much information that you will have to read through several times to get what you need or were wanting with more information covering basically anything and everything on the process how to setting up a new garden, growing and taking care of the plants, trimming and nutrienting the plants, how to recognize illness or vitamin deficiency in the plants along with how to fix the issue, and other topics that will cover anything and all you would ever need.
This book covers all the information and know-how in order to grow efficiently and effectively in a variety of different growing methods helping you along the path. Get this book and you will not be disappointed.
