A Duke for Miss Daisy: A Sweet Regency Romance (A Wallflower's Wish Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 3,565 ratings

Daisy's met the duke of her dreams...or is he her worst nightmare?

Miss Daisy is a wallflower. Or...she was. But this Season her prospects are brighter and she may just make a match. When the Duke she once adored from a distance arrives at the house party she's attending, she knows for certain her luck has changed...

Until she meets him.

Rude, grim, and not at all the knight in shining armor she believed him to be, the Duke of Dolan treats her boorishly bad. This isn't the love at first sight she'd been dreaming of. In fact, it's a whole lot like disdain. If it were not for the way he held her in his arms, she might just be fooled into thinking he's not the man for her at all.

Luckily for him, his kisses speak louder than his growls.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5 starsA Duke for Miss Daisy was humorous, sweet, and enthralling. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this! There was clear chemistry between the characters from the very beginning, and I was so relieved when they finally got their misunderstandings out of the way and came together to marry for love, which was rare back then.

A Duke for Miss Daisy is a first read for me of Maggie Dalton and Katherine Madison's regency Romance series, A Wallflower's Wish.
I found Ms. Dalton's work on Facebook and was intrigued by the synopsis of this series on her author's web page. I am extremely pleased I took a chance on these authors. This first book was so entertaining I have no doubt I will add the rest of the series to my Kindle Library.

A Duke For Miss Daisy introduces the three friends who are not quite what society expects from well-behaved society debutantes. The set-up chapters are very well written and capture the essence of Daisy, Mary and Laura so well, I was immediately drawn to their group, determined to see how they fared during the London season. I found the dialogue and interaction between the characters to be both witty and charming. At times I was both laughing and in tears at the same time. Ms. Madison and Ms. Dalton demonstrated great creativity with some of the scuffles the friends found themselves in.

I enjoyed this book so much. It was very easy-to-read and captivating enough that I read it in one sitting. My housework was easily forgotten and dinner delayed as I begged my family "for one more minute" and "hang on! Just one more chapter" until they gave up and fended for themselves (which is exactly what I had wanted them to do all along!). I hated to say goodbye to Daisy and her Duke. I almost started to read it all over again, this time reading slower, so I could savor every word and sentence, like a fine piece of art!
Instead, I downloaded the second book in the series. I am now ready to make a return trip to Regency London and see how things turn out for Laura (Lily)! I can hardly wait.

I hope you will join me in the magical world Katherine Madison and Maggie Dalton have created. It truly is a very entertaining place to visit!

I really liked the characters, even when they felt a little too good. The story was sweet and somewhat satisfying. I didn't like how quick they were saying I Love You. We're talking 24 hours in. It happened way too quickly. It seemed like 'okay, the story needs to wrap up' instead of allowing it to build. Other things could have been cut down instead of rushing it. But I do want to find out about her 2 friends, so the author must be doing something right.

This felt like it was a full length novel because the character's were written with such depth. I can't wait for the other wallflowers to get their stories.

This is about our main Wallflower Daisy who just lacks confidence and is somewhat clumsy. This made her perfect in my eyes, she wasn't the cookie cutter girl. She is on her 3rd season and would rather hold up the wall than find a husband. Her best friends feel the same so of course, nothing goes as it should. The h has held a soft spot for the H for years. They were neighbors and when they meet as adults, the H doesn't hold up to the image she had in her younger years.

I liked the honesty they shared with each other. Thank goodness for each of their friends helping along the way.

This is a clean story with only a few kisses. No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romance and clean, but very enjoyable. (ljb)

This book made me laugh. Both the H and the h are adorable and amusing. The HEA was predictable as most Regency Romances are, but how they come to it is laugh out loud fun. Made me giggle and smile and so romantic!

What a beautiful story! It was romantic, funny and swoony, and this one has an epilogue that leaves you the feeling of a HEA.
The characters were both well built, and the only things that I didn't quite liked is how fast they fall in love. The fake names of the friends where quite goofy, and the word wallflower was repeated a lot.
Other than that the main characters have very good chemistry, have pleanty of encounters where they can know each other, and tease each other. And I really loved how the side characters did everything in their power to help them.
Overall, a very enjoyable novel, and I will definitely try reading the next books, after I finish with the other ones that I have downloaded or bought.

I'm not normally one for romances without spice or romances with misunderstandings being the base of the issues between the couple but this was pulled off very well. It was cute and sweet and the misunderstandings and miscommunications made sense for these two, it didn't feel forced or like it was being used just to make issues in the book. Well done

A lovely sweet regency romance of a wallflower and her duke.

I adored Daisy and her 2 friends Laura (Lily), and Margaret (Marigold), they were a strong united friend group that would do anything for each other and it showed throughout the book.

Griff, the broody, sexy duke. Aww, you just wanted to give a big hug and squeeze his cheeks, just to get a rise out of him.

Together Daisy and Griff made a formidable team. It just goes to show, you can teach a grumpy duke new tricks or in his case, how to love.

Can’t wait for the rest in this series.
My only issue… it was o read way too soon

The storyline was so smooth, I didn’t even realized I read it in one go. Lol. A certain horse caused me to laugh out aloud and tearing my complete family’s eyes on me. Not that I didn’t chuckle throughout the whole story anyway…
