Rejected by his own family, Eliott finds refuge in a remote village inhabited by others of his own kind, but tragedy strikes again when his pack is massacred by Charles Roderick…., a vicious scientist on a mission to uncover the mysteries of a new species. Kidnapped and tortured, Eliott manages to escape, embarking on a dangerous journey that will lead to rejection, love and the hope of freedom as Professor Roderick hunts him down to the end of the world.

Part one of this series is amazing. Eliot is a young boy whom is just more than the average boy. A Lycan/werewolf. I love the fact Medusa Stone gives you a backstory to him so you can learn what has happened to him. I ached for him and wanted to jump through the pages to rescue and protect him. When Eliot escapes his tormentors he lands on a ship bound for the new world ahead. During his journey you see the timid and scared boy just try to survive. Not the best situation he is still cared for by someone on the boat in exchange for pleasures. When Eliot and the crew member L ands in the new world you have the hope that Eliot will find a place to belong to again. Hunted ends with a very hopeful promise that Eliot might have found someone that actually will care for him and maybe a pack to belong to yet again. I can not wait for book 2 in this series. FIVE stars!!
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!
Eliott is having a bad life. He's born into poverty and it doesn't get any better from there. While out hunting he's bitten by a werewolf and his family kicks him out. He comes along a small werewolf clan that takes him in and in a short time it's raided and he's taken hostage. He is sexually assaulted and beaten over and over by his guards. He does manage to get free from them after a long while and gets rescued by a ships cook. The cook barely keeps him alive with minimal food and clothing but also expects sex in return for this small "kindness". When the ship get to the New World he's let loose with his small amount of things. While out hunting again, he's kidnapped again, and sexually assaulted again. The end.
This is a very dark book. There is nothing good in the whole novella. It does continue in book two at the same place this one ends. I don't mind a little darkness in books but I feel like there needs to be some goodness too. Some hope to be had. This book didn't give me any of that. It's also written on the level of a middle school or high school student. Very basic with lots of errors. I will be reading book two as I've already been given book two from the author.
Shock, horror, disbelief, pain and heartbreak.
Just about what Elliott suffers and has to endure.
There was plenty of action, danger, drama and suspense but what kept me engaged was Elliott's emotional state and how relatable he was.
I can't wait for more.
The tragic story of Elliot tore at my heartstrings from the very first page. As I continued through the story, I kept waiting and hoping something GOOD would happen to him! How much awfulness can one boy undergo? As I continued the story though, notes of love permeated through. The gentle cook on the ship, the caring sailor who saw Elliot. The moments were there, hauntingly written and only found when Hunted for.
I had some trouble getting through this story, not only because of the graphic depictions and heartbreaking circumstances our hero finds himself, but because it was a grim reminder that not all stories reach their happy ending easily. While there was some closure at the end, the themes stayed with me. I wish there had been more character development and some comeuppance for those who used and abused Elliot; but life is not like that. I found a lot of similarities between Elliot's story and the plight of LGBTQIA folks today. They are often shunned, abused, and hated for being simply who they are.
Ultimately, this is a story about survival and the lengths we must go to survive so we might, one day, have the opportunity to thrive.
