There was never a time in the history of mankind when words of comfort were not in some soul, some sphere of life well-needed as we find in today's world of multiplied grief and loss. This Devotional by Jamaican Author Sean C. Harrison supplies timely insights into the human condition and brings reason to the seeming paradox that is life abundantly promised by a God who so often allows immeasurable sorrow and suffering on the journeys of His people. These comforting passages and insights spring from the author's very own brushes with adversity and conflict as well as his reading of the Word from which he has learned much to freely impart to the world. As the title suggests, each discourse and reading is poised to give even a little bit of hope, moment by moment, day by day, just as the apertures and sketches of the rise of the morning sun begin to slowly illuminate the world after a dark night. This book provides no easy cures for pain, but gives sound counsels, experiences, insights and hope to anyone needing a word in due season. Open the pages of this beautifully penned volume and "taste and see that the Lord is good!"

Born and raised in St. Thomas, Jamaica, Sean C. Harrison is a Singer/Songwriter/Poet/Generalwriter and Mental Health Advocate. He was raised by his mother Patricia Harrison, homemaker, later trained teacher and father Lascelles Harrison Sr., a bus driver/carpenter respectively. His first artistic appearance was at the tender age of 3 years, when he got rave reviews at a local gospel concert. He was told by an old family friend, Ms. Hyacinth Shaw that that particular concert was a full length one, an expose of his vocal giftings that featured him as the only performer. Since then he made a name in his town as a boy wonder, mesmerizing audiences which he continued to do into adulthood.

With education up to sixth form and no formal mentoring in song-writing, he wrote his first song at the age of 14 years old, titled - 'A Song I Used to Sing' and for many years would have amassed a vast wellspring of musical compositions. Sean subsequently stumbled upon poetry and he developed a deep affinity for the art as well as many years later exploring other genres of writing which proved very therapeutic and useful in establishing him as an advocate for the mentally ill and other disenfranchised groups of persons.

A brief stint at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts (1999-2001) led to collaborative entry with the band 'Connected' in the JCDC Gospel Festival 2000 and for the short time he attended, he honed his musical skills there and after falling ill and returning to St. Thomas, Jamaica, his hometown taught himself some of the rudiments of musical composition and made simple backing tracks for over 45 of his own songs on a low end instrument, some of which he never recorded until over 15 years later in studio.

Sean's inspirations stem from his life experiences firstly, the most impactful being a 26 year battle with mental illness which, though thought would have deterred him, made him more determined to sculpt his insights through poetry and other forms of expression. Through much adversity, he found solace in writing poems, songs, essays, jokes, proverbs, quotes, short Christian discourses and statements of encouragement which eventually buffered his deep loneliness, a result of most of his immediate relatives emigrating in early adulthood and stages of his illness, he having made the decision not to join them for his own personal reasons.

In 2011, he took advice from close friends and enjoyed some exposure after one of Jamaica's leading newspapers, The Gleaner, published 11 of his poems, 9 published consecutively, three (3) having been awarded poem of the week. He later set his sights on the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission's Literary Arts Competition, an annual national contest held in Jamaica in which he received both a Bronze and Merit Awards initially. Disappointed by the lukewarm reception of his work, he was determined to hone his craft and has recorded much growth in his level of expression with the short-lived guidance of a prominent university professor whom he credits with helping him greatly to continue as a writer by providing much needed validation of his poetic work at the time. In 2014 as well as 2015, he topped the national, yearly JCDC writing contest venturing to write essays which did well and further established him as a skilled writer winning Best Adult Essayist.

Sean C. Harrison has amassed a great deal of written, spoken word and musical work on the internet. You can further explore videos and interviews featuring him there as in more recent

years he has become more involved in showcasing his talents onnet and on various social media platforms, most of which is available free of charge.

He continues to write poetry and songs regularly and as his expressions flow from his Biblical foundation. His works have had a positive impact in the lives of others especially in the local church he attended from infancy where they had been featured and utilized in various programmes and he is convinced it will do the same for any audience it receives. He pens poems on a wide range of topics and issues and is confident that his work will resound with many, as, though he understands the reality of diversity, he sees our intrinsic experiences as being the same, that is, trying to interpret and find meaning for our lives as we move through it's hallways and as he has found solace in writing his inspirations he knows others will find the same on reading his expressions.
