- Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2024"No Work After Hours" is an incredibly valuable resource for clinicians of all levels, offering a lot of tips and tricks to enhance efficiency and productivity. As someone still in training, I found this book to be an absolute game-changer. The strategies and insights shared in this book help build good habits that will prove useful throughout your entire career.
One of the standout features of this book is its ability to provide practical advice that can be immediately implemented into everyday practice. Dr. Morkos’ insights and strategies are tailored specifically to the unique challenges faced by all physicians, making it a highly relevant resource. Whether you're struggling with managing time, prioritizing tasks, setting boundaries, or maintaining a healthy work-life balance, "No Work After Hours" has a solution/possible fix.
I particularly appreciated the book's readability. The language used is clear and concise, making it easy to comprehend. The chapters are well-organized, allowing for quick reference and easy navigation. The author's writing style is engaging, and the inclusion of real-life examples and anecdotes adds a personal touch that resonates with readers. I particularly liked the quotes and drawings, they gave the book a nice, personal feel.
I have worked with Dr. Morkos both in clinic and on service and I was always impressed with his workflow and efficiency. I was very happy to receive a pre-release copy of his book, as I am currently struggling with time management in clinic. I’ve already started to incorporate some of the tips into my daily practice and noticed my “after-work hours” are getting shorter.
I highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their work-life balance.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2024This book is great, real life tips on how to manage the workload and improve work/life balance.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2024This is the book that I wish I had been able to read 30 years ago, at the start of my career. It is not just a collection of tips (of which there are a great amount), but it is also a summation of the philosophy of work of someone that has clearly thought about the issue, and has been able to summarize what he has learned in a way that is both engaging to read, but that quickly goes to the center of the problem at hand.
Again, do not let the length of the book mislead you, as it is a concentrated review, where Dr. Morkos goes through the psychology, human nature, economics and other factors that affect how long you stay in clinic.
To all I say: Good work. I really hope this helps clinicians all over to regain control of their lives.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2024Always valuable practical points. Matters that it’s derived from experience. It’s adaptable to different provider needs. I think every outpatient provider will find something they can relate to or adopt and implement.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2024A great read to fight burn out and become a more efficient clinician. Great tips and tremendously helpful.
