Colin O’Brady is one of the world’s most recognized endurance athletes and explorers, and he's set 10 world records. He’s a New York Times bestselling author, sought-after public speaker, entrepreneur and Yale University graduate.
In January of 2008, O'Brady suffered a severe burn injury while traveling in rural Thailand. Traumatically, doctors warned he would never walk normally again. Supported by his mother, he went on to make a full recovery, and just a year and a half after his accident, won the Chicago triathlon. A seemingly impossible goal, he turned into reality.
Over the last decade Colin has continued to pursue a life of adventure and sought to unlock human potential. He’s set records for the Explorers Grand Slam, Seven Summits and 50 High Points Challenge.
In 2018 Colin became the first person in history to cross the continent of Antarctica - solo, unsupported and completely human-powered. The New York Times wrote O'Brady's Antarctica crossing “joined some of the most remarkable achievements in polar history."
Guinness World Records called O’Brady’s 2019 ocean project — the world’s first completely human-powered ocean row across Drake Passage from South America to Antarctica — “...one of the most significant human-powered adventures ever undertaken...” Colin is an Executive Producer of The Impossible Row, a feature length documentary from the Discovery Channel, and he hosts a television series called Survivalists.

However these goals will not include a 12 Hour Walk. I was shocked by O’Brady’s proclamation that anyone can do this. Has he never heard of disability? Does he not know that some people use wheelchairs because they are completely unable to walk and that an attitude change will not create an ability to walk in a person who simply can’t.
I hope he revised the next edition to offer alternatives for those of us who could benefit from a challenge but are too disabled to commit to a 12 Hour Walk.

Well I am telling you, I was so impressed and inspired that I was already making the plans and the date to do it!
The book is honestly an easy read, and I cannot express how much I get excited to either lend my book out or simply recommend it.
It reminded me how much I miss having an adventure outside my front door. And I really like how (beyond buying the book) he promotes how free it all is for anyone to do it.
