- Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2022Ottoman, master of the cozy rural queer romance, builds another evocative, charming story. These lovers correspond by mail for years until circumstances cause them to meet at Christmas. It is a lovely calm story to contrast with the hectic world. I think Ottoman's style is very cinematic and I had such vivid visuals that I would love to see it in a movie. This book did need another proofread but the mistakes were not too jarring.

A super sweet, cozy, and spicy short story. I find historical queer romance so interesting and something we don't see enough of. Here, we see the friendship and budding relationship between two transmasc MCs in early 1900s upstate New York. The low angst, cozy cabin setting, and wintery vibes make this perfect in you're in the mood for a quick winter read without a holiday subplot.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2023This is a free novella on Amazon.
Richard loses his job at the hotel in New York City. He has no job and no place to stay. He ends up ☝ going to Tobias place in up state New York. They have been pinpals for a number of years. They change from friends to a new relationship.
Not what I expected but give it a try it may be OK for you. 2023 😀😯😕😁

- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2020A sweet, hot story. I loved the atmosphere and the leads. Tobias and Richard are such kind heroes, and I love how their backstory as penpals was included. There were quite a few typos, which I try not to be picky about, but occasionally they jolted me out of the story. But what a story it is! A lovely quick read, and the hotel and the cottage are both so lovingly rendered.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2021I liked it... just warn a girl. A little foreshadowing maybe. Still, it was a good, short read, with intriguing characters, that left me wanting to know what happened next

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully atmospheric
A gorgeously atmospheric read that captured a sense of the magic emerging from both a snow surrounded dwelling, and also the falling in love. I loved the language and how it created such beautiful scenes. A lovely winter read.
