SORBOTHANE FEET: We created these adhesive-backed Sorbothane rubber bumpers in order to isolate vibration, attenuate shock, and damp unwanted noise. These vibration isolation and gripper pads can be incredibly helpful, especially in the case of sensitive equipment. These isolators are made of Sorbothane, which has incredibly vibration isolation and resilient non-slip properties.

This is not simply a soft rubber, it actually absorbs vibration

These are exactly what I was looking for. This is not simply a soft rubber, it actually tries to absorb vibration and it does it pretty well.

Not only do they avoid transferring the vibration to the desk/floor but they absorb some vibration from the object itself. These ones don't hold very much weight but if you have something in the range of 4-15 lbs that vibrates using 4-8 of these feet will noticeably decrease it. To absorb vibration well it is as important to have enough weight as it is not to have too much. I used them to support external 5 bay hard-drive enclosures (6.5 lbs each) and they have significantly less vibration to the touch with 4 feet under each bay.

The Sorbothane is sticky and will leave plasticizer marks on light surfaces (like white painted walls), at least if pressed against them for years. Dust can be easily washed off with water, it is not sticky at all when wet but is very sticky again as soon as it dries. The softer the stickier.

I have had a small sheet of the same material for the last 10 years or so. It was an engineering sample at my last job and I have always wanted to be able to find more of it. The sheet really hasn't changed at all; it is still as soft and sticky as ever.

IKEA Lack, 3D printer enclosure

I stuck these on the legs of my IKEA Lack 3D printer enclosures to keep the vibrations from being absorbed by the floor. They work really well for that purpose. I use them in addition to rubber pavers underneath the printers (concrete pavers never worked for me).

Would probably be better to use a larger diameter, but these things are expensive.

I have been through the ringer trying to find a solution to turntable vibration. I have used a foam mat which is kind of ugly, I have bought various types of isolation products and nothing has worked. So I I decided to try the 70s series and I bought 24 packs. I installed six of them under the turntable... and I grabbed my Billy Squier record and let it rip. Because my speakers fire sideways(subs) close to the cabinet which produces a lot of vibration. I played that record louder than I've ever played it before and there was no feedback whatsoever. I wasn't expecting the result that I got and I am incredibly impressed.

These really do work for cutting down vibration, I only wish they didn’t cost so darn much. If these were cheaper I would have purchased hundreds to put under everything I own. I can’t really describe the flavor but I CAN say they don’t taste like licorice. The adhesive backing is of high quality and they support the claimed weight. I used these under my air compressor and now I don’t feel the god awful vibration through the whole floor. I’m going to try another size just as soon as I hear back from the banks loan officer.

First: Find their website and do the work to figure out what size & stiffness you need. Larger and/or stiffer (70 is stiffer than 50 or 30) is better for more weight, and too large or stiff is as bad as too small or squishy.

It would be nice to have a link here to that info’s!

Now: I can sleep again! We got these for our coffee grinder/espresso machine, which has been waking me up most mornings when my husband makes his coffee. The grinding still makes some noise, of course, but *all* of the deep noise and vibration from the grinding and the brewing are gone. These do exactly what they claim.
