Nice little heater!!

Nice little heater!!
Followed the installation directions and the heater works great! No leaks, no trouble lighting, just a slight noise from the pilot. Kinda sounds like a pan of water ready to boil. You should keep a box fan handy and stuff it into a window, the initial burn was quite stinky. I was concerned about the enormous hole I had to cut in the wall (9 1/8") so I cut an inspection hole (4") before - good thing, there was a wire in the way. Had to move the heater up a bit to clear the wire. The "thimble" is a roll of sheet metal rolled tightly and when cut it sprung open - so be careful. I used an abrasive cut off saw to cut the flue and fresh air tubes to length, much easier than using snips. The manual has micro writing for the critical dimensions AND if you are not careful you can mix up your calculated lengths (they are based on the model BTU ). I lined out the other model lengths to keep from getting confused. The only thing that bothered me - not enough to change from 5 to 4 starts - is the thimble wall plates have MUCH larger than 4 1/2" holes in them for the flue to pass through. Probably almost 3/8" larger. So much so I had to go to McLendon Hardware to get some wood stove door seal rope and tie it around the flue (pushed into the thimble from the outside) so I had some backing for the silicone caulking. I did the same for the inside but no caulking there. Hope your experience is as good as mine. Cheers.

First of all the heater arrives way quicker than their promise date ! Fantastic
Once unpacked, I found it to be well boxes and protected for shipping.
-The instructions were great and the paper drill template came in handy to get all the holes lined up properly.
-The heater comes with all mounting hardware and accessories required for the install. (*minus the regulators and propane piping that the certified installer would supply)
-The initial start up /pilot took a bit of time to light, but it went and I let it heat up to Burn off all the oils from manifacturing.
- The heater is really cool and it has a great “set it and forget it” thermostat heat temp adjustment built in.
- I have given it a 4 on the “value”, as it is very expensive, *but the quality is there, so I can’t complain.
- I recommend this heater for the off grid application as there no power source required to run it.
- Also note that the heat delivered is a nice dry heat, unlike those propane ceramic heaters that leave everything humid and windows fogged up.
