I ordered 2 test strips to test powder found on a straw tip. Very little amount of residue to test.First test used on the straw - positiveSecond test used as a test for accuracy so I tested a normal Rx drug on hand - negative.So, this test was extremely helpful. After the positive result, spoke with the "straw user". They had a friend OD last week - percocet laced with fentanyl.I wish more people would buy these tests and distribute them to teenagers. Every test has to potential to save a life.*** ADDITION: I just checked here to buy another set of strips and ran across some of the negative reviews. People need to read the directions better. There's literally a review picture of someone holding the strip saying that they bought 4 tests and all 4 failed. Well...they're holding it by the wrong end! They dipped the WRONG end. You hold the blue tip and test the opposite end. There's a picture showing this with the instructions. If you're purchasing fentanyl tests, take 5 minutes to thoroughly read the instructions and make sure that you use the test properly. Your negative review, from incorrectly testing, could deter someone from purchasing these. My experience was that I followed the instructions and the test was accurate. ***

Unreliable results. Why there would be different degrees to the colors in the test line seems dangerous first of all. Secondly, if you read the harm reduction websites write up on these, the presence of most illicit drugs and chemicals used to cut them cause false positives unless the mix of substances and water is further diluted, yet fails to say how much more to dilute the sample prepared. So according to what I read, if you follow the instructions correctly without dilution and are testing mdma, heroin, cocaine HCI, and especially stimulants like amphetamines or methamphetamine false positive or an incredibly faint negative is highly probable. So essentially these are useless. I would seek out an alternative brand and do more research on them first. I ordered them for someone who lives in a state that doesn't sell them and they said every single test gave very ify results. Like showing positive initially but then 2 minutes into the testing very faintly showed the second line that should indicate a negative result, but she said it was so faint she wasn't sure how to take it. The instructions say wait 3 minutes to see results but don't read after the 3 minutes. Imagine how easily someone addicted to something could probably see that line just because they want to see it for the green light to use? I feel like that's incredibly dangerous when the whole idea for these is harm reduction.

I totally encourage the use of these, but the second line that must appear to show there is no fentanyl can be extremely faint. Like my tapwater showed a fainter line that did the crushed up pill I got from my pharmacy. I mean, if you were really wanting to use some drug, you can almost start imagining the appearance of the second line, which is a green light. Run one in your tapwater to see what I mean. Make real, real sure you for sure see some kind of a second line, and it might not be much. Do the tapwater test for comparison. Make sure your line is darker than that one! I got these for my kids and I am not at all convinced that they will not get misinterpreted. They need a test that is more readable by someone that is high and not completely biased in terms of hoping that it tests negative for fent.
