My skimmer lasted a little over 2 1/2 years. It broke in half while using on my collards. So, not cool!

Overall, I REALLY love these utensils and am glad I bought them; with that said, I only buy quality pieces for my home (including the kitchen) and it took two sets to get, in my eyes, one that met my standards of being a well-crafted product. My first set, one piece was just not very appealing visually, very dark and dull looking wood. I also had a splintered sticking out on the side of the smallest spoon, and the finishes between the pieces were not even whatsoever. It did not look like a complete, cohesive set. And, there were issues. I asked for a replacement, and when comparing the two sets I ultimately received, I noticed several design differences between them. The size of one of the spatulas were noticeably off, the thickness of the wood on some pieces varied, the handles were unique as well. I also was sent a different piece than what is either listed or supposed to be received in the set; a large, shallow, short-handled spoon. However, while that speaks further to quality control issues, I do like it so I was happy to get this "exclusive" piece. Still, I wasn't super happy and so for the inconvenience, I was allowed to keep both sets free. This does not impact my review, though. Had I needed to, I would have taken my refund and purchased another set. Instead, I see now that between these 10 pieces, I have a pretty decent set that varies in hues but now looks complete and a little more matching (at least to me); the second set that arrives also had more wood grain and other intricacies of the wood that I liked a lot, so, all good there. I filed down the one splinter, treated them with mineral oil, and now they are ready to go. Buyer be aware, however, that you may not end up with a great set. The odds really are a toss up.
