Bought these for outdoor project had to use pipe dope to sill. The threads are npt but don't have a tapered so the don't sill against thread. Had to sill at end of threads to keep from leaking as in pic. Don't use indoor whatever you do.

Used these to connect an RO/DI system for an aquarium. The ones I received did not have the obvious mold separation lines on the threads that are pictured in an earlier review. The threads are not tapered like most pipe fittings, so I used Teflon tape and made sure they were fully seated it the fittings they're screwed into, so that the flat surface under the hex "nut" is touching, but I still have a very slow drip from the one on the input (pressurized) side. Most important, they did not come with locking clips. Fortunately I had some extra ones from other fittings I wasn't using. I didn't test it, but I think they might leak without the clips and the connection is certainly more secure with them. You can buy the clips separately but I only saw them in packs of 50 or 100 on Amazon.
