- Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2023This book is a treasure for those of us writing traditional Sherlock Holmes pastiche--so much information in context and at one's fingertips. Even if you're not writing fiction, there is much here to inform and entertain.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 9, 2023This new book by Paul Thomas Miller is incredibly thorough and amazing. Miller details his visits to all of the locations described in all 60 Sherlock Holmes stories. It must have taken Miller years to put this project together. The location of 221B Baker Street is just one of hundreds of places Miller visited and identified by linking the descriptions in each story with the geography. London, Baskerville Hall in Dartmoor, the homes of Charles Augustus Milverton and Baron Adelbert Gruner. The actual locations of places like the Alpha Inn, Hotel Cosmopolitan in Blue Carbuncle, and where Holmes first lived on Montague street. The book is filled with photographs, old and new, of the different sites. This book takes you all over England as you follow in Holmes' footsteps. I recommend this book if you plan to visit England or if you want to see everything from the comfort of your home.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good idea, appalling presentation.
I would give this book 5 stars for content and 1 star for production. The research and scholarship are very good. The page layout and formatting is atrocious. Looks to be done on a word processor instead of a desktop publishing program. The look of the book completely spoils the reading experience.
