Product Description

Flexible socks stop and absorb water from leaks, drips and condensation without growing mildew. Socks are made of 100% polypropylene skin that resists tearing and reduces dust and hold in liquid, even when fully saturated. Filler resists the growth of mildew unlike cellulose absorbent socks. Great for use in the basement and garage where water seeps in. Place them in front of freezers, coolers and more to catch leaks and condensation where they show up. This lightweight, water absorbing sock is designed to quickly absorb and retain water. Not suitable for either the washing machine or dryer as the sock may become damaged in the process and filler loose in the machines. Only suitable for air drying. Socks should not be left in direct sunlight for long periods of time. Prolonged UV exposure will cause degradation.

    Saved my dome!
I love "The Pig" now... never thought I would say something like that! I built this polycarbonate frameless dome in my backyard a year ago. It has withstood tons of different snow and rain storms and all sorts of weather without issue. But the one problem with it, which was really my fault, was I did not build it on a platform that was high enough. The base right now is built up 3 inches, but I did not realize that my backyard does flood a LOT from time to time due to poor drainage and no pitch. This only happens when it pours nonstop for about five hours, not during normal rainstorms, but I became aware of this issue during the last downpour in autumn. It got one corner of the rug wet, and I was able to resolve it, but it took a while of wet vaccing it because capillary action had the tiny bit of water soak into the rug. After that was when I started looking into solutions, and I came upon this product. I liked it especially because of the narrow long shapes, which allowed me to completely encircle the base of the dome's interior. Well, this week, it was really put to the test, as you can see from the camera screenshot of my flooded yard. My yard turned into an absolute lake for about 2 hours (thought Noah might come to visit), which had me feeling nervous because of the rug and the fact that I have electronics and a power outlet in the floor. However, everything was kept safe. The water tried to come in a few inches but most of it got sucked into the pigs instead of the rug. The water receded at just the right time and this time barely any of the rug needed to be dried out. I'm looking for a longer-term solution like installing a French drain, but that will take a week or two, and in the meantime, I feel pretty secure that I have these pigs. They do take a while to dry out in the sunshine, but after a few days, I think they are reusable, too, another perk.

I bought these in 2021 and am in the middle of re-organizing a closet. I have a box of the mats/pads stored in there and figured I needed to finally leave a review. The socks and mats/pads are great! They are truly a life saver. We found out we had a leak in the chimney when we had the unvented gas insert removed. Until we were able to finally get it totally fixed, these things saved us from even more disaster. We life in Florida - tropical storms, heavy rains, etc... They are very reusable - I squeezed them out, replaced them with dry ones, and in the meantime hung the damp ones to dry. Then we had an upstairs window leak, same story, until we could get it fixed, saved damage to the wall, carpet and 1st floor. Next was finding out a decorative window insert in our front door was not caulked at all when we had pressure washing done. Saved carpet from getting wet. The socks are great - for water, and I actually used it to help block cold air better in our workshop, where I had plants overwintering. Great for toilet leaks, too. I can't say enough about how great these things are! They are an important part of our hurricane kit, I have a box on both floors of the house and in the workshop. Multiple socks for just in case (and winter!) You will not having them for that just in case incident.

We had water coming in our house, and quite a bit. Every 12 hours I was wringing out towels.

Once I saw these I thought I better give it a try. I can go about 2 or 3 days now without having to do much.

For anyone with a leaky foundation it is definitely a good temporary fix. We will be getting a more permanent fix soon, but until then these have been a huge help.

I definitely recommend these. Also I saw this in another review, but put them on final spin cycle in your washer to wring the water out. It dries them out really fast, and you can put them right back down to soak up more water. Just don't ever fully wash or dry them obviously.

    Great product.

I have been using this products so many times, but I wonder if it really absorbs as it advertises. it can be reused, but I feel that the ability definitely decreases unless you completely dry the product
