Dear Captor (Letters in Blood series Book 1) Kindle Edition
He tells me the girls who came before me are no more, then makes me a promise. I'm next.
I needed to fight. I needed to survive.
He soon learned I wasn't a simple lay down and die kind of girl. I gave him my own promise.
Dear Captor,
You've stolen me.
You've spilled my blood.
You've brought me pain.
But what you're yet to realize... I'm a fighter.
I've been broken before.
I've even at one point lost the will to live.
So now you know... this information I gift to you.
I'm ready for you, so do your worst.
Sincerely,
Elenore

- Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2017Dear Captor the first in Letters in Blood series, WOW!
Truly this dark story had me hanging on every word.
Elenore has been through hell, just when her life was looking up it comes tumbling down like a house of cards.
Detective Roman Blackwood, just when he found her Elenore is gone.
Will he find her in time?
Liz’s characters are beautifully written, compelling story and I look forward to With Love the second book in this series.
*Elenore*
Not me, though – he kept me.
One letter change my destiny of certain death.
It was never in me to give up easily.
I’ve always been a fighter.
He never saw me coming, and never knew my strength.
He was not what I expected either.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2018I found this book to be interesting. It pulled me in quickly. It became obvious in the first few pages who the captor was. The reader goes through this book just wanting Elle to realize who she's dealing with.
The writing was decent. It became clear that the author wasn't familiar with some American words even though the setting was New York. I would suggest to the author to maybe research that. Americans don't tend to refer to things the way she wrote them so it made the storytelling feel robotic at times. If the setting is in America, then I feel like the dialogue should match. This goes for anywhere. If it were in the UK, the dialogue should match. Australia. Japan. Wherever. Match it up.
I'm hoping the character development takes off. For 99 cents, the book is worth it.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2022I knew going in that this was book 1 in a three book series. This book was interesting but I don't plan on continuing. The h had a hard life. Was abused and unwanted by her parents. She's now an adult and has this feeling that she's being watched. This is confirmed by text messages from an unknown number. Eventually she gets kidnapped, caged and tortured.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2018Having to get her bosses lunch she bumps into someone seeing the most captivating eyes meeting hers, then he’s gone, but gets left a business card with his name on it, Detective Roman Blackwood. While waiting for her order she learns on the news that her co-worker, Rebecca, was murdered.

Roman knows they are running out of time, her friend Suzie thinks they aren’t doing enough, and her friend Lewis won’t answer their calls, but both Roman and Suzie don’t trust Lewis, Roman learns more about Elenore’s past and wonders how she survived.
Her capture returns and lets her know she has to suffer, and she will die soon, but she’s going to do everything to survive. When her capture asks her to write her goodbyes, she doesn’t know who to write to, it would break everyone she knows.
Sometimes the capture wants to be more like others, but can he change, he was inducted by his father, Elenore isn’t crying maybe he wasn’t harsh enough on her, but then he read her goodbye letter, letting her know everyone breaks. He tells her to run, she falls but the joy isn’t the same.
Can’t wait to see what happens in book two.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2017My first read from Liz but let me tell you it was a doozy and it certainly won't be my last! This dark story had me captivated from the start... Elenore, a girl with a deeply troubled up bringing was fighting against her past to create a much brighter future. With a new promotion and the attention of a young male detective, life was looking up for Elenore... until it wasn't and she was captured! Well written, very clever as the storyline keeps you guessing right until the very end..!! I can't wait to see what this series brings next.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2022I thought this one was just okay. I despise the practice of some authors where they write a partial story so that if you want to get the entire story, you have to buy all the books in the series. I will skip
doing that and put that author on my do not buy/read list. As far as this actual book, it could have been so much better. While there was some background throughout on the main character, Eleanor, there was very little about the other characters. It felt like it was very rushed and literally just stopped right in the middle of the story. Based on all of this, the author is now on my no buy/read list.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2019Love love love this book. I read from front to back in one sitting. I am talking a book you will stay up until 3:00 in the morning to finish when you have to wake up at 5:00am. Despite my being able to guess who the captor was from the beginning, I was still drawn in to this amazing story. I had a love hate relationship as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it
I was hooked. There's not much more to say. The letter concept was captivating, and I couldn't get enough of the kidnapper character. If you feel the same way and instantly fell in love with them, let's be friends. The book left me wanting more and more. I highly recommend getting the entire series because I know you won't be able to put it down, just like me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great read!
I was sent this book in an email provided by a service that sends me discounted books etc and this cover immediately caught my attention and I didn’t hesitate to buy it. I then went onto Goodreads and it was a different, lighter cover so good call for the remodel of the cover as this new one definitely sells the story!
