I have two 4k monitors and this thing is driving them on 60Hz with HDR without problems.
It decodes audio to optical but the most you can get with optical is DTS 5.1.
In my case I have Arcana HD Fury device output going into the matrix, while eArc Arcana output going to Sonos and Dolby Atmos works very well.
In my setup I also have extra HDMI switch switching between PC cable and AppleTV and having three devices in sequence does not affect video quality at all - same 4k 60Hz with HDR works well (ApplTV/PC -> IoGear HDMI switch -> Arcana eArc extractor -> Ferrisa matrix -> Monitor)
The following sequence of transformations also works very well (4k 6Hz HDR with two monitors) for my Macbook: Macbook -> Thunderbolt cable -> Belkin Connect Thunderbolt station -> two thunderbolt to HDMI transformers (Belkin) + one cable to USB switch -> Ferrisa HDMI -> Monitors
One warning to save you 8+ hours of troubleshooting in future.
In this setup cables quality matters a lot. I tried few brands and had few sleepless nights before I discovered some cables just affect entire system and matrix and made setup unreliable.
In the end I identified that thunderbolt->HDMI cables were the cause of my problems, I ordered few more Belkins instead of the brand I was using and everything started working flawlessly
I only used 3 displays but it was mainly because I only had 3 devices to display from, however, the outputs were up to 4K as listed. I used a 4K Roku, a laptop, and a desktop. I had one audio out via optical audio to a sound bar, and one audio out via HDMI. There were no issues with functionality with this device. Using the 3 devices, and the remote, I was able to easily switch between inputs and output their display on the respective screen and if that device outputting to the screen had audio, and the optical cable associated with that output was plugged in, the audio would play with no discernible impact to quality of the audio as it was completely digital. The instructions for the matrix came in quite handy as it tells you on the back which switches should be in which position to enable which features, so this is one device that takes the user manual seriously... DON'T THROW IT AWAY! This is not exactly user-friendly. Basic functionality is pretty simple and straight-forward, but there are many different specific settings that may leave you wondering why 3D didn't work, or why your outputs are not 4K... that's all in the user manual. That being said, setting it up with the user manual isn't difficult either, since the switches are either up or down, 1 or 2, so just pick what setting you want, see what the manual says it is, and set it.
I see myself using this in my office, but not for dual monitor setup, more for entertainment purposes--setting up display for my server and Roku devices, maybe an input as a third display on my desktop for videos, etc. This did not recognize the two outputs as two separate monitors if you did not have two outputs from your computer into two separate inputs on the matrix, so don't get this thinking you can get dual monitor usage out of it, it's a screen cloner--sends one signal to two screens, like a presentation.
The only criticism I would have really is the Output LEDs. When one LED lights up, the one immediately adjacent to it also lights up a bit. This doesn't take away from the fact that the one lighting up is MUCH brighter than the others, but it seems like a small oversight. I would place even a small barrier between the LEDs to prevent light leaking... it would not be a large expense for the manufacturer, and would result in a much cleaner-looking product.
All-in-all, excellent product. And for $42, it's a good deal.

I have a 2021 TV from when they notoriously only had a single HDMI 2.1 port, but I have several game consoles and a PC that can benefit from that port.
I also have a Vizio soundbar that has broken eARC where the audio drops out every 20-30 minutes. The solution for that was to disable eARC and just use ARC which is lower quality sound, or use the HDMI pass through which is limited to HDMI 2.0.
With the HDMI 2.1 switch with Audio Extractor I can use all my devices with full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, and the audio problems are gone while allowing me to drive up to uncompress 7.1
The only thing that doesn't work is HDMI-CEC signals going to the soundbar. So the soundbar doesn't turn itself on and off with the TV, and the TV can't control the soundbar's volume.

The remote works good and basically works like a TV. I heard the light on the box itself was really bright but I didn't notice that with mine.
You could also set it up with a capture card between it and it works great too!
Well, I still don’t know whether that is the case or not, but I found a plug that met the requirements for voltage and amps and whatever else and plugged it in and it’s working great! I might not leave the house with it plugged in if no else was going to be around, but I’ve had it plugged in for several hours at a time, passively sitting there and also actively in use while gaming or watching a dvd on a device running through it.
I had a very specific need for such a device for use as a gaming rig for running a HMDI to USB - C capture card to a computer while also being able to see the output on the tv and it works perfectly for this. There are larger numbers of input and output slot versions out there, I saw an 8 in and 8 out at one point, but this serves my needs.
I also haven’t seen any issues with picture quality, it’s supposed to be 4K & I have a 4K tv and an Xbox Series X. I’ve watched dvds, blu-rays and 4K discs through it too using the Xbox as the disc player and it seems pretty perfect to me.
