Ransom has published more than 150 books for children, and she is amazed every day that she's able to do this as her life's work. It's no small thing to discover at an early age (ten!) what one is meant to do, and then pursue that dream. For her, the best part of writing for children is that she can move between writing board books, picture books, easy readers, chapter books, middle grade novels, nonfiction, and biography. She is excited to move into picture book nonfiction with BONES IN THE WHITE HOUSE: THOMAS JEFFERSON'S MAMMOTH (Doubleday, 2020).

AMANDA PANDA QUITS KINDERGARTEN and the sequel AMANDA PANDA AND THE BIGGER, BETTER BIRTHDAY (Doubleday) are her first picture books with animal characters! She is proud of her easy readers featuring a brother and sister having fun throughout the year: PUMPKIN DAY, APPLE PICKING DAY, SNOW DAY, and GARDEN DAY. Look for more titles in this Level 1 series written in bouncy rhyme, plus the popular TOOTH FAIRY'S NIGHT (all Random House).

Such a cute book
5 Stars
Such a cute book
The “tooth fairy” got this for our 5 year old as part of her tooth fairy gift after losing her first tooth. It’s the perfect level for her to read independently and she loved how the tooth fairy in the book looks just like her. My only complaint is that the book is set up like a poem/rhyme rather than a short story. So, the first time she read it, it felt a bit choppy, BUT overall, it is a good book for an early reader. It helps practice rhyming words, which is what they’ve been focusing on in her 4K class.

The tooth fairy brought this to my daughter when she lost her first tooth! We have read it numerous time! Such a cute book!

I ordered this book for my 1st grade/6yr old daughter who was about to lose her 1st tooth any day. I ordered this along with one other tooth fairy book and a tooth fairy pillow to have for her. I thought this was a great Lil book for a child who has just began reading ( kindergarten/1st grade level on AVERAGE book) My daughter loved being her box from Amazon with the things I ordered to surprise her ( she was very excited about the tooth fairy coming for the first time!) and as soon as she lost her tooth she was anxious to go read this right after AND a few hrs later again before bed. She enjoyed reading the book as it's simple BUT pretty pictures and great for children at a beginner to mid level reading range.

I bought this for my 6 year old granddaughter who couldn’t wait to read it. Short simple text so a beginner reader can follow along and sweet funny illustrations.
But the real “hook” is the topic of lost baby teeth and rewards under the pillow.

We bought it as a "step1" reader preparation book for my young kid. She loves the vivid pictures and cute content. One thing I notice is, there are many short sentences, or more like phrases. e.g. "fast paws, too slow"... not so easy to understand if without context. If more sentences, can be short but should be complete can be put into the content of the book, it can be better. just like the "pete the cat" books.

Warning: do no read any further if you believe in the Tooth Fairy. Yes the tooth fairy is real!

Okay now that the children are gone.. My daughter has been losing her baby/milk teeth and I was looking for something for the tooth fairy to exchange for the tooth. My wife and I wanted to give her random items each time. So at first we did the traditional money, then we did some dental hygiene products (to promote healthy hygiene), and chocolate coins (too keep it fun). I came across this book looking for something new and exciting for her to find. Well let me tell you it worked. She enjoys reading this book and learning about the tooth fairy. It has helped her with wanting to read more.
