Are you familiar with this old saying?
“All publicity is good publicity.”
That’s a classic reframe. The quote shifts your thinking from the shame of whatever you did wrong to your probable benefit. You can’t change the past, but you can change how you feel about it.
Trained hypnotist and persuasion expert Scott Adams has packed more than 160 new, counterintuitive, and effective reframes into Reframe Your Brain. For example:
Usual Frame: Manage your time.
Reframe: Manage your energy.
Usual Frame: Success depends on who you know.
Reframe: Success depends on how many people you know.
Usual Frame: Your critics are evil monsters.
Reframe: Your critics are your mascots.
Usual Frame: The universe is acting against you.
Reframe: The universe owes you.
Usual Frame: Luck is random and can’t be managed.
Reframe: You can go where there is more luck (more energy).
These instant perspective-shifters will help you feel better on demand and succeed at any endeavor without the usual pain or pitfalls. The reframe collection covers personal fulfillment, business and career success, mental health, social activities, and physical well-being. If only 10 percent of the reframes work for you, your life will never be the same.
Prepare to embark on a journey of transformation as Scott Adams shares his most invaluable insights and practical techniques to date, empowering you to reprogram your own reality using words alone.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2025I really love Scott Adams' book How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big. I was excited when I got this one. However Reframe Your Brain is essentially a rewrite of How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big except Adams' just adds relevant "reframes" throughout the book to make it different. The reframes are important and life-changing. For example, in the beginning of the book he illustrates how to do a simple reframe by stating "alcohol is poison" to tell your brain if you want to stop drinking (mostly socially...not adequate for hard-core alcoholics). It's pretty powerful. I've never been a big drinker anyway and I mostly drink socially...and I really don't even like drinking socially anymore...but this one simple reframe has definitely minimized and, in many cases, encouraged me to choose a non-alcoholic beverage because I can't stop thinking about the "alcohol is poison" reframe. So, this is a really good book if you enjoyed his other book How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big and want some powerful reframes to go along with his original materials. In fact, just to be clear, I read A LOT and it was BOTH Scott Adams' books Reframe Your Brain and How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big that were my TOP BOOKS for 2024. That's how much I liked both of them. So...highly recommended if you want to change your life fast!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2025The book shows you how to change your outlook in life and turn a bad situation into a good one
Not by empty motivation, but by using rational perspective and understanding how to change the way you look at things so you can act in a way that benefits you
In be re-reading soon
- Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2023Though I haven't finished the book yet, I am already reframing my brain.
I mean do you need more proof that it works than that? Do you? Do you? Realllly? Reaaaalllllly? .. .. .. Really?
-- OK, I just started talking like Scott Adams for a moment there. But seriously, the book is very fun so far, and it is helping me to re-think and address the problems I sometimes create in my own life, as well as search for more ways to achieve harmony with the world around me. A fun route to a serious new way of thinking.
The book makes your brain swirl with new ideas to help yourself help yourself (that's not a typo). To oversimplify the ideas this book is giving me so far:
When I'm in slow moving traffic - I'm enjoying some music on the car stereo.
"Neat! 'Fate' just gave me an unexpected music break."
Rather than being frozen with fear about making a mistake in a task - I'm striving *towards* discovering the answer.
"I'm getting to the real solution. Let's strive ahead and see how this all comes out in the end!"
When I'm folding laundry - I'm organizing my life and making my clothes nice.
"I'm a talented fabric beautifier!"
The problem with some people reading this review is that they'll think they've "got it" now, from a few examples. It is much more than a bunch of examples! You need the BOOK. You NEED the BOOK. Just hearing a few examples, without Scott's in-depth analysis of how we can arrive at reframes, and why these ideas work to begin with .. well that kind of cheating is not sufficient.
With the book, you'll see ideas about how the past is in some ways "imaginary;" about ways to think about the concept of "luck;" about some ways to address worry and even death; about the nature of love .. and yes, also a lot of tips on how to use re-framing to understand, cope, and succeed better in life (and to still feel pretty ok when you don't succeed at things).
Why not buy the book and get the entire methodology? Plus it's genuinely funny to read, and your brain's light bulb will light up so many times it might show up in your electric bill.
In summary: Many of the recurrent undesirable aspects of life can be given a better perspective, thanks to this book. It is like performing jujitsu on yourself, psychologically. Don't just go by a bunch of examples (although one could generate an infinite number of examples). *Read* the book itself, so you can fully understand this approach! Damn, you already read this whole rambling review! You could have spent that time reading the beginning book! Get the book, man! There's an "order now" button on this page somewhere. Click it! You'll feel pretty good about the decision.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2024When I read God's Debris, it threw me for a loop. It was the first book I'd read by Scott Adams even though I'd be a Dilbert fan as long as I could read. How did Scott know what was going on in my mind all these years? How to Fail at Everything changed my life and started me on my life system I call Project Creating Better Habits. Since then I lost 85 lbs, gained tons of strength, have built a family of 5 and begin each month by reading a new self-improvement book. Last month it was Reframe Your Brain and I'm so glad I chose it! Scott once again blows my mind with how well he helps me reprogram my old, degraded mentality into a brand new Corvette brain! Must read! 5/7 perfect score!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2024I enjoy listening to Scott on YT.
He’s a bleeding-heart liberal (womp womp), but his views lately (at least in the political arena) are more right of center.
The one major issue the reader should know before reading this book is that Scott DOES NOT BELIEVE IN FREE WILL.
Isn’t the ultimate tool of persuasion convincing a person they don’t have free will?
He believes humanity is a simulation.
The book is full of easy-to-digest reframes on everything from success to social life, and beyond.
The meat of the book explains each reframe with his trademark quick-wit, dry humor.
I can’t figure out of I enjoy his writing more than his vids?
Some gems:
Reframe Shame Out of Your Life
History Does Not Exist
Imagine Objects as Virtual
Life is Short and Opportunities are Limited
The most useful reframes for me were how to look at past traumas:
My Trauma Can Kick Your Ass
And,
His addiction reframe:
People Need a Minimum Level of Pleasure to Make Life Worth Living
He also admitted to peppering some hypnosis tactics throughout the book and apparently, AI found him out.
Too bad I can’t be hypnotized.
Scott gives away some of his tricks in this one.
Overall, an enjoyable read.

Training staff at McDonalds is easy because it's like a business-in-a-box. It's the same from one restaurant to the next. That's a big reason for its long term success. "Reframe your Brain: is easy to read, with short and snappy Reframes that are EASY to remember. This book is a work of genius that Scott has shared in his ongoing efforts to make the world a better place, After buying many books over the years that gather dust on the shelf, it's a complete pleasure to own this one that I will keep picking up and can even easily read it in a waiting room. What a great gift-giving idea. PS Amazon please reinstate Scott's other books. His comments were taken out of context and he didn't deserve to be cancelled.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scott Adams est brilliant

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ!
So far, the one book I credit for changing my life is How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big, which is also by Scott Adams. Since I read that book in 2015, I have been listening to Scott's livestreams (Coffee with SA) every single day. I feel like I know him intimately. I have seen him explore ideas that he has put into this book. I have been waiting for this book ever since he started talking about writing it—probably about a couple of years ago.
And now I have it. Bought it the same day it came out. I am about a quarter of the way in, and just as expected, I can already tell this may be the new single best recommendable book for success. If you have any drive for success at all, just buy this book. You won't regret it.
