We actually used this neat book as part of our science curriculum with our homeschool. It is loaded with vivid pictures and awesome facts about apples. The process from start to finish is covered right in these pages in a way that really makes learning fun. I appreciate that!!!!!

My 3.5 year old loves this book! His preschool teachers were so impressed he knew all the flower parts including stamens. Excellent diagrams and descriptions of how a flower works for kids.

Great book. Very informative actually. My son is a little young to understand what the book was about, but I look forward to even still reading it with him as he grows.

I purchased this book to supplement what my school library had for my recent "Apple Theme" week. The pictures were really good & although I had to skip some of the text for my students (Special Ed 3,4 & 5 year olds) they seemed to enjoy hearing about it. From looking at the pictures we got some good ideas for apple "projects" we could do at school (painting pictures of the inside (white) and outside (red) of apples), cutting apples apart - both horizontally & vertically so they could see, first-hand, the arrangement of the seeds & making apple prints of this, etc. A really good (non-fiction) addition for my apple theme week.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Lovely Book
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 12, 2014
I've enjoyed all of the Let's Read and Find Out Science series, and this lovely book is no exception to the rule. Beautifully illustrated, it describes how an apple forms, from flower to ripe fruit.

I would suggest 4.5 or 5 years old as a minimum age as the concepts are more complex, including the stamens and pistils of the flower and how bees pollinate the trees. I believe the book recommends "primary grades" (which in the US would be 6 and above) but my 4.5 year old enjoyed the book.
