It is recommended to use OMV and to install Raspberry OS Lite, I installed Ubuntu Server and installed Webmin on it along with Docker using a 2gb SD Card ad a boot drive and a USB M.2 SATA SSD for the filesystem which goes into the USB port on the SATA board inside the case. One thing to note when using the USB port on the inside, the drive doesn't get designated as sda, which is quite odd. Nonetheless it is a great device to learn on.
when I bought I did check the previous reviews and I noticed 2 details
1) thermal pads included are two thin, reviews recommended 2mm, I used 2.5 and was to thick i bend the pi board ...so USE the 2mm.
2) power supply, it's come with 12v 60w psu...I did not check the included one I just order a 12v 120w psu right away, but technically 60w will be enough if you just use SSD.
A little noise, not to much.

Couple of tips that should help you:
-Turn off transcoding in Plex settings on the webUI. Use directplay only.
-I wouldn't recommend HDD's due to the size and heat. SSD's stay cool.
-Recommend using 2.0mm thermal pads rather than the ones provided. The RPi CPU wasn't touching the pad or heatsink. The thicker pads ensures contact with the heatsink.
-NTFS formatted drives work great. No need for EXT4 format. Just make sure you hold SHIFT key down when you shutdown Windows PC with drive connected. That way you have no issues mounting the drive and creating a share folder in Raspian+OMV.

Pros:
- All ports minus the USB-C of the RPi4 is accessible via the back panel (HUGE PLUS for this)
- After some setup, it works like a charm
-- with the caveat that you are going to sacrifice some speed due to using USB 3.0. however I've been able to achieve at most 650MB/s while transferring files over which is fine for my needs but YMMV. I've also read some reports that the USB disconnects during high load but I haven't had that issue at all and I'm booting off a Verbatim 8GB (2015) USB 2.0 drive and loading up 4 2.5" HDDs in BTRFS RAID1c4 which all read/write from the same USB 3.0 port.
Neutral:
- Good configuration options once you install their software, but have to manage multiple conf files
-- more consolidation (into two conf files) if you get JeffCurless' version on github
-- no way via both to disable the HDD temperature check outside of manually editing the argon code. this would be nice if you have HDDs and would like to spin them down, the temperature check otherwise keeps them up 24/7
- OLED looks good but its showing signs of fade and burn in after a week of use
- If you plan to leave this on your desk, then you'd probably appreciate the good looking design, but if you are like myself and you want to leave it on your server rack then you'd wish the design took up less space with a more square/rectangle design.
Cons:
- Included fan is LOUD
-- The fan is a 12V 70mmx10mm fan so no bequiet/noctua replacements unless you jury rig them
- No proper place to vent exhaust out
-- There is a post on Argon's forum where THEY THEMSELVES admitted that they'll ship the fan pointing upwards from now on because they found it cooled more efficiently. The problem with this is you still have a noisy fan AND now you have a noisy fan blowing AGAINST a flat metal surface just a millimeter away from it so now you'll get a wind tunnel sound on top of the fan noise.
-- The PCBs inside are also in the shape of the case so the fan pointing down only traps the hot air inside the case with very little air escaping outside of mount holes or other small crevices.
-- This could have been avoided had they added an exhaust vent either on the side panels or on the back of the case.
- Unconventional battery. In order to use RTC you have to use a CR1220 when CR2032 are more common.
-- Once again, another shortcut made to fit the design.
- The provided thermal pad is thin and does not make good contact between the Raspberry Pi and the metal pillars (extends from the case) that the heat is supposed to transfer to.
- PSU/Power is huge and can take up valuable space on an outlet depending on orientation
I don't mind tinkering and messing with software as that is part of the fun in working with stuff like this, but for $150 USD, the hardware should at least be there. For $150USD, there is just too many shortcuts and bad design decisions for me to consider this worth buying.

Having to purchase and wait for a compatible 12v - 5A power adapter to arrive. As the only ones I have are sub 2A...
