Breathe picks up exactly where the reader needed it to. We longed for the ending to all the drama started in Pulse and Osborn doesn’t disappoint. Effa and Merc set the stage for a beautiful relationship in the difficult rockstar world. Her caring nature and his desire to be what she needs causes the angst we want in a great read.
It’s a great twist on the rockstar romance genre in the band is all females with unique and fresh personalities.
This story isn’t without outside forces creating drama for the couple. The health of side characters, family members, former lovers, and lone sharks also add to the mix. If you haven’t read this duet, start today but be prepared to finish tomorrow because you can’t put them down until your done.

Man talk about packing a punch into a story. KE Osborn wrote this duet for Effa and Mercs with real life issues. This book was nonstop and had so much in it. Even with everything that was in it the story was written perfectly

We pick up seconds after Pulse ends. Mercs doing CPR and praying Effa wakes up. Even after she wakes she'll need some down time to recover and whats better then back at Mercs home with his grandma and sister.

Mercs spends most of his time taking care of everybody else in this book. Kiera's not getting better and the treatment that can save her cost more then Mercs has. He still owes money bc he tried gambling to get the cost for the surgery. His past is now in his present and lets say she's a bitch. Mercs knows he should tell Effa about the money he owes, but between his pride and her not getting better he doesn't get the chance.

Mercs definitely made some mistakes. But, he did it with good intentions. He'd do anything to save his baby sister. He also loved Effa. Mercs wanted her safe and back to being healthy and on stage doing what she loves the most. Mercs is the type of guy you want to be with.

Effa kinda annoyed me in book 1. But, she really grew to me in this one. What Jett did to her was wrong and she didn't deserve it. Effa has a huge heart. She loved Mercs sister and grandma like they were her own and she loved Mercs. Money doesn't mean anything to Effa other then its just money. She was going thru a lot and wasn't seeming to get better and she still thought of everybody else before herself.

I'm telling you this book was bananas. I did love that we got more from the side characters in this book then the first. I'm hoping we get more from them.

Breathe is book two in The Luminous Series by K.E. Osborn.
This book continues you on the journey of Mercs and Effa that we read about in book one.
It does not skip a beat and continues the riveting conclusion of the cliffhanger we were left with in Pulse.
From the first word you are completely in it!
This book begins with Mercs desperately trying to save Effa’s life.
Effa has been drugged by an obsessive peer. And Effa was on the brink of life and death when Mercs found her.
Your heart will speed up, your breath will quicken as you read his desperate attempt to save her life.
My heart broke... He needs her. He needs her in his life and will do anything for her to be alright!
The agony that he felt in that moment is absolutely palpable.
Will Effa make a full recovery? What will happen if she doesn’t?

This book is a wonderful continuation of the relationship of Mercs and Effa. Yes it is based on a rock star, but it is so much more than that! And it is deep, moving, current and emotional.
The depth of the relationships of not only Mercs and Effa, but all of the sub-characters is amazing!

The book continue’s with Merc’s sister Kiera’s cancer battle. And the treatment she needs is expensive and the family just does not have the means. A decision Mercs made in the first book is back to haunt him. And as he battles to figure out how to deal with his past and overcome his past mistakes. You wonder why his pride keeps him from telling Effa what is going on. It’s a trying moment in their relationship and will prove whether they can overcome his prideful reasons.

Wonderfully written. Emotionally turbulent! I cried, laughed and ran the gamut of emotions with this one! I look forward to the stories continuing! A must read for all romance fans.

Thank goodness we didn’t have to wait long for Breathe because Pulse ended painfully.
We know Jett was many things and it was only a matter of time before he showed his true colours but what he did to Effa was a step to far almost costing her...her life.
The opening scenes to Breathe are touch and go and as the seriousness of what has happened sets in you can only hope that the truth will come out sooner rather than later about Jett... thankfully he just couldn’t help himself and this only sealed his fate but he still had you worrying for quite some time afterwards... is this really the last we will hear from a Jett.
There is a lot going on throughout this storyline with the ongoing concern for Mercs sister Kiera, Mercs debt and the fact he’s Keeping a secret from Effa, it plays heavy on your mind all the time, surely it won’t end well however I felt relieved when Effa offered to pay fo Kiera’s treatment and Mercs excepted but still not mentioning his debt.
Through all the worry and concerns there are plenty of upbeat moments curtesy of all the secondary characters. Being back in Mercs home town Ligonier while Effa recovers is a good choice especially for Kiera.
Effa is suffering some strange symptoms which sets alarm bells ringing, it’s another worrying time while we wait for the outcome. With regular injections it’s something that can be treated and kept under control. Disappointing as it is you have to feel grateful after everything Effa has suffered she not only survived but didnt come away with life threatening symptoms.
As the storyline continues so do the threats, Kiera’s treatment and talk of going back on tour and you can feel the tension building especially for Mercs and whilst he puts on a brave face he struggles with telling Effa about his debt... it’s too late.!
Oh dear it’s a scary moment for many reasons It makes you feel uncertain about how this incident is going to be dealt with and the repercussions, unfortunately Mercs keeping this to himself nearly cost him dearly and more importantly putting those close to him in danger.
It’s Mercs turn to recover and also face the music whilst everyone gives him a few choice words, he realises he should have done things very differently but it’s easier said than done... everything in hindsight.
Everybody comes together, it’s a lovely feeling, there’s a lot of happiness but the situation with Kiera is never far from your mind. You know it’s going to get worse before it gets better an that’s exactly what happens .
The beginning of the epilogue throws you without a doubt you absolutely fear the worst and just when you are feeling nothing but sadness you are treated to the most beautiful moment..!!
Fabulous ending... thank you.
