- Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2011Well balanced views and completeness set this book apart as one of the best in the topic's field. I recommend newly married couples should take it on their honeymoon. A few chapters are useful reading, as preparation, a few weeks before a wedding. They should read a chapter each day of their honeymoon, because the information provided quickly broadens horizons in the realm of intimacy, and it feeds the mind with good discussion topics.
My background is very conservative. In my opinion, sexuality must be discussed, but we should do so at appropriate times and with discretion. This book could help young parents who wish to wisely educate their little ones before they get exposed to unwholesome ways to ponder sex. It is also an excellent aid for the pre-marital counselor and the counselor who hopes to help married couples overcome marital struggles.
Generally, this type of book is not read aloud to unmarried young people. It is a great reference book for the young married ones and the old-timers. By it, you may gain the ability to answer many difficult questions on the topic of sexuality.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2013I was impressed by the Biblical help and scriptural references in this book. It was not what I was hoping for, but yet it helped open my eyes to a better way as a husband to understand and treat my wife. This book would be a great book for pre marriage counseling. I received it in the time frame I was promised and the cost was in my budget.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2024Was recommend this book by an older couple. Good to set out mind on a biblical view of intimacy and not a world “Hollywood” view!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 20, 2021This book is so helpful both for young married couples and as a preparatory book for engaged couples. Dr. Wheat brings a "clinical" approach that makes it easier to digest and understand. Everyone has to learn sometime, and I found this book to be the perfect outlet for me to understand more about how the body works and how sexual intimacy can be enhanced in marriage. I would recommend this to anyone, and bought it specifically to have for my children when they come of age to marry.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2017I'm very glad this book was written. God has designed our bodies to respond to sexual pleasure, and it's good for people to have knowledge and skills to exploit those things and really make sex feel good.
Beyond that, it's important to understand how our bodies work physically. Not having this knowledge can lead to real heartbreak and even cause physical pain, and I believe this book is a must read for couples to read while engaged, and to visit again during marriage, and for those who didn't read it before they were married, it's so worth it to read it as soon as you can. The book provides essential teaching on male and female anatomy that are important for married couples to understand for each other and provide pleasure rather than pain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for marriage!!
I loved this book! It was so helpful for me and my husband, as he was raised without any SEX-Ed and this novel went over basic anatomy. Even as a woman I learned new things about my body that I never knew before. Highly recommend to any Christian women who not only want to see how scripture encourages sex in a healthy marriage as well as safe and accurate information to make that sex good. This novel takes away alot of the fear and confusion around sex.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good read!
Dr. Wheat presents the purpose and responsibility behind sexual intimacy that I never heard taught before. Now I have a whole new understanding of just how profound the intimate relationship of husband and wife can be. I will not live below the wonderful experience that we're designed by God to have. Thanks for an eye opener! I'm so glad I read this book before getting married!

5.0 out of 5 stars Well written book.
I found this book to be very well written.
It is frank, open and honest without ever being tawdry or inappropriate. It is also very helpfully and sensitively written from a Christian perspective, and really fills a gap in the market.
