- Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2024I first found Becky Hemsley's poetry in my feed on Facebook. Being someone who has written, (some poems and a lot of journaling) most of my life, I am always interested in reading poems from others.
I was immediately struck by the depth and beauty of her poems, the sensitivity and grace her poems exhibit.
My daughter recently was diagnosed with cancer, had surgery, then radiation treatments and now we are doing that most hard part, all the waiting and wondering. In some of Becky's poems she shared on Facebook, I found a kindred soul. One who has suffered deeply and has learned much from suffering.
We don't learn when things are great and going well.
We learn from trials, burdens, and the cost of carrying those things. We never stop having growing pains.
This book of poems I purchased as a gift for my daughter as a book that would give her hope and to realize that even though she may feel invisible at times; she is not.
I will be purchasing more of Becky's books in the future.
Her writing is a great blessing and it is an honor to be a recipient of her life experience, and her writing!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2024I (Debbie) bought this as a gift for my best friend to remind her how important she is to me and many others. Then I bought one for myself! The poems are uplifting. I have it on my side table, visible and easy reach. I saw the poem “Just Bring Yourself” by chance on Facebook and decided to look for it on Amazon link. I almost didn’t buy it because in the book details it list the reading age 14-18 - this is definitely not correct . It is for a person with years of experience beyond the age listed. I so happy I believed how the reading of the poem made me feel instead of the book details.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2024Beautiful artistry that I read daily--certainly on par with her other publications!
