The Reason I Married Him Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 23,179 ratings

From USA Today and Amazon Charts bestselling author Meghan Quinn, comes a new marriage of convenience romantic comedy. This steamy, laugh out loud, enemies-to-lovers small town standalone delivers the perfect happily ever after.

He proposed . . . and I said yes.
Normally a jovial occasion for a couple in love, but this proposal has a very different feel.
Because the man that I'll be calling my husband blew into town with one thing on his mind . . . to make my life a living nightmare.

So why did I say yes?

Well, because we both need something from each other.

Namely, I want the farm land he currently owns, and he needs a wife in order to inherit his family cabin in his grandfather’s will.

So as he so eloquently put it, my hand, for his land.

At first, I thought the idea was nuts.
Who really gets married out of convenience?
Apparently, I do.

And now we have to sell our relationship to the town. Meaning, we're holding hands, he's pinching my cheeks . . . upper and lower. We're even forced to share the one-bedroom guest house on the farm where his monstrous body is taking up a large percentage of the bed.

But we’re so persuasive about our farse, that now I’m starting to think he actually might like me. Especially when he grabs me by the wrist and teases the shell of my ear as he whispers, “Mine.”

So good!

So good!
4/5 ⭐️2/5 🌶️Aubree and Wyatt were so good together. This was the perfect reverse grumpy sunshine storyline I wanted to see with Aubree’s story. After getting a glimpse of her in previous books I really wanted to see her with someone able to bring her out of her shell. She is dealing with a lot of trauma from her childhood and has put up a grumpy exterior because of it. She is always supporting her family and town when she can but has been let down so many times that she doesn’t trust. Wyatt is a famous author that is recovering from heartbreak. When they decide to work together (and get married) for their land and cabin needs they quickly realize being there for each other is easier than they expected. The tension and spice were both perfect. Their back and forth had me laughing so hard. That proposal… 😂. It was so good, there is a lot of character build up so I could definitely consider this a slow burn. I loved all of the previous books in this series and can’t wait to read Ryland’s book!

I loved the heart and emotion in this story. The characters were complex and watching them grow to understand each other was beautiful. It was also hilarious. The banter between Aubree and Wyatt was perfect. I love at the end how Wyatt brought them back together. And as with most Meghan Quinn books, the Easter eggs were superb. The ones in the epilogue were chef’s kiss. I thought Aubree would be the “break your heart” story in this series, but I have this feeling we are in for a wild ride with Ryland.

I always enjoy a good rom-com. But most of them are pretty much the same. Typically you get the star-crossed lovers, some good humor, but angst, and nd often a bit too much self mental abuse. But this book... Noooo!!!
This book has got tons dialogue that is absolutely fresh!!!. I love the teasing and the taunting and the verbal sparring. 99% of the time I rate RomComs with 3 or 4 stars tops. Out of maybe a thousand books this is the first rum-com I've rated a 5

P.S. If you can, get the audible. The characters who do the reading are great

This is the first book I’ve read by Meghan Quinn and I was hooked by the third chapter. I thought the dialogue was witty and intelligent, a little like The Gilmore Girls. The plot was unique and I was intrigued to see where the story would go. Unfortunately, for me, it fell flat once the deal/contract had been made. It was predictable that certain characters would show up towards the end and spoil everything, so no surprise there at all. Fear not though, a happy ending was still achieved, as we knew it would be. It’s a cute story, but the sex between the main characters was a little too much and repetitive to keep my interest, so I skipped over a lot of that. The ending was just how you’d expect.

Meghan Quinn never misses...ever and this one is 5/5 stars!! In true MQ fashion, this was so funny, spicy and just had such a sweet story line!!

This story follows Wyatt and Aubree. Wyatt’s engagement ends right before his wedding, which puts him in a predicament since he needs to be married in order to inherit a family cabin. He owns half of a farm, left to him by his SIL, so he decides to take a trip to Almond Bay. His goal is to strike up a deal with Aubree…her hand for his land.

The banter was off the charts, I mean 10 out of 10 so good! My other favorite part…all the cameos and “easter eggs” from her other books, she nails it every time keep previous and future characters in each book. I feel like when I read those I am on the inside of an inside joke. I love it.

This book was such a sloooow burn. I could feel the intensity of Wyatt and Aubree’s chemistry and sexual tension. And that burlesques scene….IYKYK!! Aubree and Wyatt together is certainly something extraordinary. And it was great to see Aubree come out of her shell with Wyatt. She definitely had a lot of growth in this one. Wyatt might be my favorite MMC Meghan has ever written (however Hayes will forever be my book husband). Between his humor, how he cares for Aubree, and his dirty mouth, he really is perfection. My jaw was literally dropping with some of things that would come out of his mouth.

Can't wait for what's next in the Almond Bay series!

The plot is not necessarily original ,but pleasant enough. The work would really accomplish more without all the explicit and detailed sex acts*. While some may find them titilatinng, they grew boring and detracted from the the characters character.

This book was so fun and enjoyable! The way Wyatt chased Aubree made me melt and the tropes were well executed! The banter between them was hilarious. Most of the book was light hearted but towards the end it got serious and as I read more of Aubree's past it made me feel so sad for her. She was hurt and Wyatt was like a breath of fresh air who was capable to heal her insecurities. Also the slow burn was well executed because I could definitely feel the intense chemistry between Wyatt & Audree. While I really loved them both sometimes they could be incredibly stubborn and I felt like the drama in the end was unnecessary and could've been handled a bit better which was kind of a let down. But I'm so excited to see if Ryland and Maggie get their own books!

5.0 out of 5 stars Meghan can do no wrong

    Another winner from Meghan Quinn.

It was a joy to read Aubree's HEA.
Wyatt is every gals dream, an absolute sweetheart who knows how to speak to a woman and make her feel loved and adored, not to mention he is hilarious, as always, Meghan does not fail to make me laugh out loud.
Also, a well-deserved mention of Wyatt's filthy mouth and swoon-inducing bedroom antics, that man...🥵

I must say, though, there's not a lot I can say for Aubree. I don't NOT like her, but I also don't have a single thing to say for her character. I still loved the book (and audiobook), but there's something about the female leads (including Hattie) that don't do much for me.

Patiently waiting for Ryland's HEA 🤍
