Important information
Safety Information
Not for use by children under the age of 12. If you experience pain during use, stop immediately. If the pain continues, consult a health care professional. Consult your doctor before use if you have had ear or nose surgery in the past 6 months. Do not use if you have an ear infection or if your ears are blocked. Do not use if your nasal passages are completely blocked, you could create pressure and solution retention inside the nasal or sinus cavities, causing adverse symptoms in the ears. Ear popping and fullness are rare but known side effects of nasal irrigation that typically resolve on their own in a short time. Consult a health care practitioner if you are using to relieve congestion and there is no improvement after use; if your symptoms persist or worsen; if you have a persistently thick and yellow or green discharge; if skin at the base of the nostrils becomes raw or crusted. Terminate use if no saline appears in the lower tank after 60 seconds. Do not use continuously for longer than 5 minutes. Clean the device after each use according to the instructions in the Owner’s Manual. Using the product with illegal drugs, alcohol, or prescription drugs except when prescribed by a physician is prohibited, may damage the device, voids the warranty, and may cause serious injury. Use only as indicated in the instructions provided or as directed by a health care practitioner. Consult your physician if you have questions or concerns about whether or not you should irrigate.
Indications
Intended for saline nasal irrigation to help relieve sinus congestion and stuffiness due to sinusitis, allergies, colds, flu, dry air, dust and pollution.

Sodium chloride (purified sea salt) and purified water.
Directions
1)Fill upper tank with water to Fill Line. See Owner’s Manual for important information about what kind of water to use. 2)Place new SaltPod in crushing chamber foil-side down. 3)Close lid until it clicks shut. Do not reopen. 4)Center nose pillows in nostrils; push power button in all the way. 5)A cycle can last 10 to 60 seconds depending on personal anatomy and congestion. 6)When finished, tilt head forward and gently blow nose to remove any residual saline. 7)Twist off bottom tank; empty it.

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
Since I started using this (usually once a day), I rarely need neosynephrine. I'm having a little problem with the suction, but I think I need to try smaller nose pillows. I also found the saline a little strong, so I emptied a little of the saline pod before putting it in the machine. So far, I think it's worth every penny.
There are only two caveats I would put forth for new users who are debating whether to try Navage or not. First of all, follow the instructions precisely. When they say to wet the nose pillows before use, they mean it. When they say pull it back away from your face a bit after you start it, they mean it. When they say it will feel weird at first but if you stick with it you will get the hang of it, they mean it. Once you learn the trick of breathing through your mouth while you do it, it becomes very easy. And when they say you need to use the right size pillows for it to work, they mean it, so be prepared to order a different-sized set of nose pillows (sold separately), because the pillows it comes with might be too small or too big for you.
Secondly, the Navage works so well at keeping your sinuses moist and healthy, once you start doing it on a regular basis, if you stop doing it for a few days you will be able to feel your sinuses drying out and you will crave another Navage “fix.” So know that once you start doing Navage, you’re going to want to stick with it. Keep that in mind if you balk at the hefty price tag (especially when compared to a $9 neti pot). The reason it is so pricy is because this is a battery-operated, motorized unit, but it is definitely worth the price because it works much better than the neti pots and squeeze bottles that are out there.
I found smiling while doing it stops you from swallowing the water.
The one downside is that you have to use their salt pods - if you open the lid, the machine doesn’t work again until you put a fresh pod in.
Cant wait to see how much better allergy season gets.
Pros:
*The Navage works as well, if not better, than other powered machines, because of the suction.
*The Navage gives a deep, clean feeling, perhaps even more than other powered machines.
*The Navage gets the job done.
Cons:
*If you have a deviated septum the Navage is very difficult or impossible to use on the side where you most likely have most of your blockage. You can try using a nasal dilator like a breath right strip to help the flow, but it is possible that you get no flow at all or something very much inferior to your other machine. Let's face it: a lot of people with sinus problems have them because of deviated septum, so the question is, is it worth it to you? It will do a fabulous job on one side and you may need to use your original powered machine on the other. For $100 I personally think it's still worth it. Although it doesn't work on one side I do seem to cough up more afterwards. The mere fact that the water is slowly passing by near the sinus openings does something. You will know right away if it's not working on your deviated side. There will be no suction, or at least a lot less than on the other side. If you try it the first time and you get no suction switch the position of the nasal pillows. Most likely, you unknowingly started on your deviated side.
*The Navage is substantially messier than any powered machine I've used in 30 years. There is a learning curve, especially with a deviated septum. You will swallow water, spit up water, get your shirt wet, etc. Once you figure out how to use it, though, this messiness dissipates.
*The Navage does not allow you to use Xylitol (very toxic to dogs/pets) which can have benefits in preventing the development of bacterial sinus infections. It also does not use baking soda, which at first I thought would be a problem, but it's not. The pure saline does not burn and mixes with the whole tank of water evenly.
*The suction is no joke. When you use a regular powered nasal irrigation system the primary feeling is water going up your nose. With the Navage, the primary feeling is the suction. It takes some time to get used to it. It can be alarming at first, but you just have to be calm, breathe through your mouth, and take breaks as needed. You are in full control of the power button at all times.
Summary:
The Navage is great for people without a deviated septum (probably superior to other powered machines). However, it's questionable for people with a deviated septum because you are only getting half the benefit. If this is your first powered machine, I would buy something like a Sinupulse first; that alone will give you relief. If you want to add this later do so. If you've had a powered machine for years this may be a nice addition to your collection of sinus treatment options.
Once you get used to it, it actually works!

She has tried several times to use it, and so have I, and it just doesn't perform as expected/claimed. The flow rate is ridiculously low, and there is no vacuum action at all. A nasal irrigation bottle performs much, much better and is less than 10% of the price.
