I only knew GCH for 2 songs but this album was great. The quality was awesome and the green cut was very nice on the eyes

This albums has had a cupids chokehold on me since it came out. Arrived fast and flat. Bumped corner but I play the record not the jacket.

This vinyl record looks beautiful in green, sound was great too. One minor gripe, huge scratch on one of the LP's but thankfully it didn't mess with the sound. Great deal for a little over $10

If you haven't heard these guys then get out from under that rock! Go get all albums now! Check out Travie's tattoos I especially like the Darryl Hall & John Oates album cover on the top of his hands.

I started listening to Gym Class Heroes a few years back, in mid 2005 I believe, and absolutely fell in love. I am a diehard hip-hop head at heart, loving emcees like Rakim, Eminem, Saul Williams, The Roots and the like...So the fact that this kid was saying some of the best, most original lines I've ever heard in my entire life amazed me. One of the greatest hip-hop lines I have ever heard is still "Catch me in the source with 5 pills next to my name; like f*ck 5 mics I want 5 vic fame".

On top of this, I am also a diehard indie fan...So finding this band, a deffinate mix of both genres blew my mind. I listened to it non stop, saw every show that came within 120 miles of my home town and became obsessed.

Then of course they blew up. Cupids Chokehold came out, and every pop kid under the sun fell in love...I had to hate them, for at least a while. Typically when this happens with a band, I lose all interest and never listen to htem again. I expected the same of GCH.

But it didn't happen. Despite the fact you can't say your a fan without getting laughed at, I cannot help it. Any hip-hop fan that talks (S word I can't say) would be shut up in a half a second if they heard a song like Pillmatic or Shoot Down The Stars, and any emo/indie fan wouldn't be able to say another word after hearing 7 weeks or even Papercuts.

If you are a music fan, you have to give these guys a listen. They are one of the best genre bending bands I have ever heard, and I believe have the ability to keep coming for a good 5 years.

Like the guy above said this is hip hop with a punk rock sensiblity. Lyrically its miles away from standard independant hip hop, not necessarly BETTER than, just different. Thats why Gym Class Heroes are a BREATH OF FRESH AIR . . By that token they are light years away from any rap / R&B artist littering our charts nowadays with R&B(!!??!!), so dont let them put you off this!!. As vocally dextrous as any MC you choose to mention, Travis McCoy delivers his lyrics with a kind of 'underdog's confidence' covering emotions and subjects that across through a wide range of social and anti social behaviour.
Contrary to most hiphop groups or artists GYM CLASS HEROES are a live band, much like the ROOTS, delivering an eclectic sonic backdrop for the rhymes. At times moody and reflective, this band are perfect for anyone who listens to a skate / punk oreintated sound.
It is very good indeed.
