I love a book that can pull me in so easily with characters that I can really feel that I can connect with. "Not Home for the Holidays" shares a story that many young women (and also not so young;) ) can really really relate to in our social media filled world. Emma is someone that I would like to hang out with. I loved the colloquial voice of the book. It's refreshing. Emma actually seems like one of my blogging friends and her ambitions really are very contemporary. Full disclosure...I also love per chickens. :)
One thing I enjoyed about this book is how positive it is. We need more of this in our crazy divided world right now. It shows people in competition working together as friends.
This is a wonderful read and Ms. Drake has provided all of us with a Christmas gift.

This is a great read! A fun story with relatable characters & a great twist on the usual stale holiday plot. I loved it ❤️

A very cute and quirky romance for Christmas time. This was a fun, quick read that is perfect to curl up in front of the fireplace with. A nice twist on the typical boy meets girl in the country setting. In this short novella, country girl , Emma goes to the big city for a social media contest and meets a super sexy and sweet city boy. Emma steps out of her comfort zone to enjoy her time in the big city after her ex boyfriend said she wouldn't be safe alone there. I really enjoyed this novella and look forward to reading more by this author. Super cute, feel good romance that deserves a 5 star!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are honest and my own.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

Personally I just didn't click with the characters here. The plot was different for me with the different "influencers" competing for a contest.

This was primarily written from Emma Lopez's POV. There were a few sections of Ethan's. I prefer a HEA and this book was more of a HFN. There were times when a new section (or chapter) would start and I would have to figure out who the section was referring to.

An entertaining holiday romance. Good plot and likable characters. I received an arc from the publisher and Netgalley and this is my unbiased review.

NOT HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS is a fun, bit quirky, and completely enjoyable romance between a country girl heading into the big city and one city guy who is searching for something more – and may have just found it with a stranger under the most unusual circumstances. Add in some chickens, a competition, and lots of lively characters and you’ll find a story that will make you smile and flip pages quickly.

Ethan and Emma are a believable couple who may have some definite sizzle going on but also have some very real concerns as to just where this relationship is heading. Watching them discover each other, slowly (for this story) fall in love and be willing to take the risks that emotion requires was a lovely journey.

I loved the secondary characters and the almost instant bond that the contestants found among themselves. I think the most important thing here is that everything felt very real like it could easily happen, and that is the type of story that will draw me in and keep me engaged until the final page. I had fun with NOT HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS and would not hesitate to recommend it to readers who love a good Christmas Romance.

I own a Kindle edition of this title.
