About the Author

Mary and husband Paul began homeschooling in 1986, when their sons were ages five and eight. The Schofield children have graduated, married, and moved into their own homes. They have decent jobs and are doing fine out in "the real world" despite the fears of homeschool naysayers. Mary has been enjoying her "retirement" from active homeschooling by continuing to serve on the Board of Directors for the Christian Home Educators Association of California and by remaining active in legal and legislative issues surrounding private and home education, family freedoms, and parental rights. We homeschool and we were looking for high school alternatives for our three girls who want to go to Univeristy. One of my children want to be a Vet and train at UC Davis... we needed real solutions which would result in the A-G classes accepted by the UC/CSU system.
This book was sadly out of date and not at all useful for us. It didn't provide any of the information we have found most useful (gotten from the Home School Association of California and the UC websites in the end) and was like a lot of home ed info out there aimed at folks who don't seem to have high educational ambitions.
