- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2023The Case of the Missing Cheese: a Grove Street Mystery is engaging, entertaining, and fun to read with my 6 and 8 year old sons. What a wonderful story for Hispanic Heritage Month and year round - the beauty of a multicultural and a multi-lingual story! The illustrations are also really impressive. Highly recommend as a gift, and your personal library collection! Well done, Lisa - an author to watch!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 19, 2023A fun mystery, in which three friends, from different cultural back grounds, show that working together gets things done and things are not always what they seem. Definitely a feel good story, with realistic behavior from the kids and parents, who talk and behave like real people.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2023I received an Advanced Reader copy through Book Sirens. This is a cute story for 3rd - 5 th graders. The main characters are in 3rd grade. It contains Italian, Spanish and English words. Not all of the Spanish was translated. I took three years of Spanish and was unfamiliar with some of the vocabulary. There are two mysteries occurring: one is a missing hamster and the other is Mystery Mayhem. The beacon and clues for Mystery Mayhem’s game are fun and appealing. The friendship with Mr. Rossi is a true strength to the story. I would recommend this to others.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2023My 8 year old daughter and I read this book together. She didn't want to put it down! A super-fun adventure where kids in a multicultural village, who attend a dual language school, try to be the first to solve a mystery, and wind up mixed up in a different mystery all together. Recommended!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2024This was a great read! Perfect for 8 year olds! My son could not set the book down and was inspired to start drafting his own mystery story! Can't wait for the rest of the series!

Images in this review - Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2023Skyler and her friends are 3rd graders who love a good mystery and making plans without asking their parents first. They live in a multicultural town with a wonderfully diverse cast of characters that is both easily recognizable and whole unique.
When mysteries start to pile up, the Grove Street Detective Agency is on the case!
Within the framework of a solid mid-grade mystery story Lisa weaves a tapestry of diversity and friendship where the real answers always lie in communication, understanding, and kindness.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2023I was fortunate enough to receive an advanced copy of this delightful book. There are so many things to like - the character development, the pacing and the writing style (throwing in some big words to build vocabulary is always a plus), to name a few. I love the fact that the setting is a dual language school and that multiple languages were incorporated into the book. Five stars!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 14, 2023This is a cheese-filled adventure that will leave you wanting more!
