A Werewolf's Guide to Seducing a Vampire (Glimmer Falls Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 580 ratings

A USA Today Bestseller

Ben Rosewood never meant to be bound to a vampire succubus, especially one as sexy-yet-terrifying as Eleonore Bettencourt-Devereux, but he has to admit there are some fang-tastic perks….

Werewolf Ben Rosewood is happy with his life. One hundred percent. Everything is fine. His business, Ben’s Plant Emporium, is thriving, and he’s even expanding the shop. His anxiety disorder is…well, it’s been better, but that comes with the territory of running a business and having beastly urges every full moon, right? As for romance—who has the time? Though his family is desperate to see him settled, Ben is fine approaching forty as a single werewolf. But after drunkenly bidding on and winning a supposedly-possessed crystal on eBay one night, he finds himself face-to-face with a beautiful yet angry vampire.

Eleonore Bettencourt-Devereux is a rare breed—a vampire succubus born from two elite European bloodlines during medieval times. Thanks to an evil witch, she’s been stuck in a crystal since she was thirty, forced to obey orders from the possessor of the rock. Eleonore's been dreaming of breaking the spell and severing the witch’s head for centuries. But did this witch really sell her to someone new, and for only ninety-nine cents?

Eleonore would claw this werewolf’s heart out and eat it, if only the binding spell would allow her to. But Eleonore and Ben soon realize they can help each other with both vengeful and less hostile needs. And why not have a little fun along the way?

Review

"Sarah Hawley's books are a perfect combination of whimsy, heart, and delightfully madcap humor—and the Glimmer Falls series is escapism at its very finest. I never want it to end!"—Jenna Levine, USA Today bestselling author of My Roommate Is a Vampire

"A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire
showcases Hawley’s trademark zany humor and sparkling storytelling, where a quest for epic revenge can instead launch a gentle romance between a bloodthirsty assassin and an anxious werewolf. A romp filled with magical duels and life-threatening levels of sexual tension."—Katie Shepard, author of Sweeten the Deal

I would describe Ben as the ultimate caretaker, he wanted to do everything for everyone.Eleanora Bettencourt-Devereux is the vampire succubus FMC. She is funny, not that her character was trying to be funny, she just was due to the differences in knowledge and cultural norms from before she lived with the Witch in the Woods versus modern times. I loved watching her learn about the modern world. She actually did a few things that made me laugh out loud. I was practically salivating for the potential spice between her and Ben because a vampire succubus is going to make for some interesting encounters. The side characters: There isn't a single one I didn't like. They all had full robust personalities that I would read about any day. (which it looks like there are more books in the series so some of them probably either have books or will have books). Glimmer Falls seems like a place that holds endless possibilities, and hopefully many more stories to come.I 1000% recommend this to all my paranormal romance readers, it has spice, small town cozy vibes, and an intriguing plot. I think readers who enjoy books by C.M. Nascosta, Ami Wright, Lyonne Riley, Lillian Lark, and Ashley Bennett will really love this book.

I really enjoyed this whole series. This was a great group of characters, and I’m glad we got to know them all. I liked how the author took real issue that we all have a made them very relatable. She didn’t make it seem like they had to be fixed, or that something was wrong with them. Just that you could ask for help from the people that cared for you and they would accept you and help in whatever way you needed. I enjoyed Ben as though Eleonore was hilarious. I thought how she learned and compared everything to Star Trek was amazing!!! She was blunt and honest and spoke her mind and I liked that. And Ben was great and open with his feeling and kind. He was the perfect man. Definitely read these books if your looking for an easy fun read

I will say this is not my typical romance fantasy book I go with. It hit all the right tropes but it felt very rom com. I like hardships with dark themes and maybe this genuinely wasn't the book to read with that mindset. The characters do go through their own hardships, I genuinely loved the MMC with his anxiety and the small voice telling the FMC that everything would go wrong. That was relatable to the characters for me and provided respite from the banter and long inner monologues that I understand was to build the relationship and plot, it just felt very staged. The spice was good and I did finish it happy with the conclusion. If you love rom coms with a hint of fantasy (Ali Hazelwood with fantasy) then this is the book for you, it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Then the story line was dramatic, then add in, all the explosive fireworks and you have a seriously amazing 5 star read! I highly recommend the series and the latest book!

I love this series so much and I'm glad that a werewolf was included as a love interest! And with a vampire/succubus???? Yes please. Every relationship needs a soft one and a staby one. Ben is the perfect, soft, cinnamon roll werewolf. Eleanora is wonderful as the fish out of water with walls around her heart.

I think this one might be my favorite of the series.

cw: anxiety, mentions of bullying, PTSD, gaslighting
When anxious workaholic werewolf Ben Rosewood, owner of Ben’s Plant Emporium, drunkenly searches for a 'blue sexy rock' for one of his plant terrariums, he gets more than he bargained for. Vampire succubus and lethal assassin Eleonore Bettencourt-Devereux has been tethered to the stone for almost six centuries. Obsessed with Star Trek, she's forced to obey orders from the possessor of the rock. Initially wary of the handsome and seemingly benevolent werewolf, can Eleonore learn to trust someone after so long? And together can they find a way to break the spell keeping her locked to the gemstone?

I LOVED this fish-out-of-water story, which was the perfect end to the series.
Ben was so adorable. I loved his compassionate nature and nurturing side. I empathised with his self-doubts and anxiety, and I loved how supportive and accommodating he was with Eleonore, especially when he began to realise how specific he needed to be with his wording. But he was SO hard on himself, so I loved how supportive Eleonore became, especially how she praised and complimented him. I wanted to hug Ben so much. He was such a sweetheart and was extra adorable when he was drunk.
I loved Eleonore's sass, but also her vulnerability. The way she parsed modern life through her Star Trek lens was amusing, but I also felt so sad for her, especially when we began to understand just how isolated she'd been while 'living' with the witch. But I loved Ben’s compassion and patience as she revealed her complicated and traumatic past. I also loved how caring she allowed herself to become with Ben, even early on and loved that she gifted him flowers, even if her way of doing so was unorthodox. I ADORED c.20 and 21, as they grew closer. As for the following chapter, the way I cheered! Her faux pas with the coffee and tea were adorably heartwarming. Over-caffeinated Eleonore was truly hilarious. I also loved her avant-garde one-woman show. The parallels between her former life and the stage show were brilliantly incorporated, especially 'Barbie Girl'.
They were so cute together and I loved how well they complemented each other, especially how Eleonore recognised Ben needed his loved ones to start having boundaries regarding his time, so I cheered in c.32. I also loved the way Eleonore looked after Ben before he shifted, and their conversations were often so beautifully profound. Their tender moments were so beautifully written, as was the intimacy, and I LOVED their chemistry. It was often hilarious but also SO hot. I loved how Ben opened up like one of his flowers with Eleonore. Though I felt for both Ben and Eleonore when she’d assumed the worst, I cackled laughing at the traffic stop.
One of the things I love in this series is the town and the many species of magical creatures, and there was a subplot involving a mayoral campaign which was interwoven perfectly. It was fun to catch up with the characters from the previous stories. I loved the banter at the barbecue, and Rani's conversation with Eleonore was so sweet. Lilith was legendary, and I also loved the little glimpses of her and Kai together, as well as the always hilarious Alzapraz. I loved Mariel's advice and how supportive she was of Ben, and it was fun to get to know Gigi, Ben’s sister. She was hilarious, and I loved the fan fic discussion. I was also cheering her on as she stood up to Cynthia. The final chapters and epilogue perfectly wrapped all of the storylines up and ultimately left me swooning, but also a little sad that we won't see these characters again.
Though I was sad, this was another gorgeous story to end the series.
