Portrait of a Past-Life Skeptic: The True Story of a Police Detective's Reincarnation Paperback – November 8, 2015
Purchase options and add-ons
A veteran police detective, Robert Snow was devoted to evidence and hard facts―he had never given any thought to reincarnation. But during a hypnotic regression, he experiences a vivid awareness of being alive in three separate historical scenes. Remaining skeptical, Snow begins to investigate with the intention of disproving reincarnation. Instead, diligent research and corroboration from multiple sources reveal solid evidence that he lived a former life as Carroll Beckwith, a nineteenth-century American artist. Portrait of a Past Life Skeptic tells the fascinating story of Robert Snow's transformation from skeptic to believer.

But not everybody can accept it, not even when the facts are staring them right in the face. Several years after the book came out Snow agreed to take a lie detector test for the show “Proof Prositive”. He ended up taking two seperate lie detector tests for the show and passed them both. It was during this time that he was interviewed by a local alternative news magazine called “NUVO” which wanted to do a feature story on his book — soon afterwards NUVO news-boxes all over downtown Indianapolis had Robert Snow’s face plastered on the front of the magazine with the insulting caption: “Captain Karma” . Understandably, this caused the Indianapolis police department considerable embarrassment, but they didn’t take any administrative action then. The tipping point came shortly afterwards when when the Proof Positive segment aired on national television: without any reason given, Snow was removed from his position and transferred to the Citizens Service Desk, which is the next stop before retirement. Captain Snow got the strong hint, and he decided to retire several years after this. His police writing career also greatly suffered. But despite all this he has no regrets, and while his own police department unfairly threw him away for sharing his incredible experiences with the public, a lot of fellow officers privately thanked him and said they found the message of his book inspiring.
Do we continue on in some way after death? Robert Snow’s incredible journey says YES. The only remaining question for me is did this journey happen inside of him, or was he able to access some greater consciousness while in the hypnotic state that allowed him to discover these facts about Beckwith’s life? On this note, it's worth looking into Kozyrev's Mirrors where occupants are supposedly able to access other lives.
And speaking of other lives, I wish Robert Snow would do more past life regressions to see if any other past life experiences not having to do with Beckwith become rock-solid, like Beckwith’s —
