Awesome.
5 Stars
Awesome.
I wasn't expecting much out of a device in this price range. But it's got all of the features of an NV scope that is double the price. Tired of coyotes tearing up my rabbits. (I farm them for pet stores, humanely.) Got three of them last night. I bought the picatinny mounted battery pack as well, it kept the scope powered the whole night.

Very good digital NVG scope. A few gripes would be it's weight. It's quite heavy. Couple lbs. easily. If you're mounting on a bipod weapon, no problem. If you're planning on using it on a handheld or hiking rifle? Be prepared for some heft. Also, I zero'd this at an indoor range and for some reason it was blurry with the day mode on. Not sure if it was cause of the heat in the range or what. Once I took it outside and looked through it, it was fine. Also, Night Vision mode, it wasn't blurry at all. Final issue is...it sits flat. Like perfectly flat. The issue with this is, when I zero'd it, my reticle is almost at the bottom of the window. Which kind of makes for awkward shooting as your reticle is not centered in the screen. May have to get a riser or pad or something to lower the front a bit.

Pros:
Easy to Zero (not 1 shot, but definitely 3 or so)
Night Vision that's crystal clear
Multiple reticles to choose from depending on your comfort level
comes with the IR Flashlight.

Cons:
It sits totally flat. Zeroing can be an issue and the reticle moves on your screen not the screen moving around the reticle.
Eats batteries like crazy, get a backup system that isn't disposable batteries. I ranger strapped a power bank to my stock to use.
Day vision in a range goes blurry for some reason.

I've been using this scope for a week or so, and I am very impressed with the performance. The listing claims that the unit is good out to 200 yards, but I find that I can see significant details out well beyond 300 yards, even at the lowest IR output setting. That tells me that the included IR illuminator is very powerful and I probably don't need to consider replacing it. I don't expect to be attempting any night shots beyond 200 yards, if that far.

I would prefer to use rechargeable batteries for the light, but I guess that it would be difficult to match the power of two CR123A 3-Volt batteries in a package as small as this light. I HAVE tried a single Sanyo 16650 Li-ion rechargeable battery in the light, and it fits and works pretty well. The 3.7-volt Sanyo battery does not produce as much illumination as a pair CR123A batteries (6-volts total), but it does work and it provides enough illumination to identify and shoot a target (feral hog) out to about 200 yards.

The scope was easy to mount and easy to zero, and the menu interface is simple and comprehensive. I don't know that I will be using the recording features, and I have not done any testing for that. I mainly wanted a scope that will allow me to shoot hogs at night, without breaking the bank, and this one fits the bill nicely. Based on research that I've done, there is probably nothing better that doesn't cost a lot more. A really good thermal vision scope would be nice, but would cost many times what I paid for this system.

The base 4-power magnification is good for most situations, and the digital zoom can be helpful at the first 1 or 2 stages. I haven't tried the zoom in daylight, but I don't think it works very well at night because of the reduced picture clarity. Fortunately, I shouldn't need the zoom for shooting at targets closer than 200 yards.

I don't have any real complaints about this system, considering the relatively low cost, but there some things that could possibly be done differently. This system is rather bulky and heavy. The weight of the scope is 36.3 ounces (with batteries), and it would really be nice if that weight could be reduced.

The control interface includes the ability to reduce the brightness of the display screen, but I find that at night it is still a bit too bright even at the lowest setting. If I could reduce the screen brightness even more, I could recover my night vision more quickly after using the scope. This may be something that could be changed in a firmware update?

Mounted on a bolt-action rifle, the scope sits a few inches too far forward for optimum eye relief. An extended mounting base is available, but the cost is $40 or more. As the scope sits now, however, it is still quite usable for shooting. I may save my $40 and apply it to the purchase of a semi-auto AR style rifle that (presumably) would not need the extended mount.

I don't like the idea of buying and discarding CR123A batteries for the illuminator, but I may just switch to using rechargeable 16650 batteries. If I can find an affordable night vision binocular (or monocular) for locating targets at 300 yards and more, I can easily move close enough to shoot with a 16650 battery in the Wraith IR illuminator.

It would be nice if the illuminator included a small LED indicator at the rear, to remind the user to turn it off when not needed. As it is, it is too easy to accidentally leave the invisible IR light on and run down the batteries.

Having said all that, I honestly don't think that there is a better night vision scope available that doesn't cost a LOT more than this system, and it has performed better than expected so far.

Good night and day scope but it is heavy as mentioned in reviews. I mounted it on my pellet rifle and it works great. In low light it makes the target look light daylight. In infrared mode, it takes a little getting used to. Due to its size it is almost 3 inches above the barrel so you have to set the sight up for the range you will be shooting at. I sighted it in, very easy and quick to do, for 50 feet but when I went to shoot rat in my barn I was shooting over them. Minor problem to fix.
for the price it is a good night scope. It does eat batteries rather quickly. It takes 4 AAA for the scope and 2 CR123 batteries for the infrared light. I ordered a package of ten here.

Got rats in my out-buildings. They're a pain. They eat a huge number of the eggs that my wife's chickens and ducks lay. Got an air rifle to try to thin them out, but the iron sights are a bit of a pain at my age. I wear vari-focal glasses and so if I tilt my head down so the rats are in focus, the sights are blurry. Tilt my head up and the sights are just fine, but the rat is all blurry <sigh>.

Enter the Sightmark Wraith, a nifty TV sight with IR/daylight camera. The rear diopter ring can be focused onto the tiny TV screen so I don't need my glasses any more, and the front objective ring focuses the image coming into the camera. Winner.

It was a bit of a trick getting an adapter to go from a dovetail rail to Picatinny, and none of the offerings from Amazon were any good at all, but that's a different story.

It is quite a large scope, so aiming high/low/on target to cater for range to target took a little setting up with a field target at various positions in the chicken run. All sorted, now. There are many choices for reticle design, and a multitude of reticle colours to choose from. The menu is intuitive and zero-ing the sight was done in 5 shots (3 to get it zeroed, another 2 to be sure). It is water-resistant (not -proof) so a bit of drizzle does no harm. Battery life is a bit short (4 x AA last for about 3-4 hours).

By day, the rats are quite savvy - they see the beardy-weirdy with the bang-stick and RUN. By night, however, they seem fascinated by the dim, purple IR torch that comes with the sight and just stare at it, even after the air rifle has been fired... BANG!... "George? You all right George? You having a little lie down, mate?"... BANG!... "OW! OK, I see why you're lying down, now... Got a thumping headache... Bye, George..."

OK, so we shouldn't laugh, but egg thievery has dropped to an all-time low over the last month, so this sight is already paying off the investment.

It doesn't have laser range-finding but, at this price-point, it would be unreasonable to expect it. Invest a little time getting it sighted in so you know how much to offset vertically depending on range to target and you don't need that function anyway.

For a budget day/night IR TV scope, you won't be disappointed.

I have only used it a few times but I am extremely happy so far (time will tell, I hope it lasts).

2.0 out of 5 stars Big heavy bulky NV scope doesn't fit my bolt action rifle without an adapter.

Rail mount not compatible with my bolt action rifle, would need some sort of adapter to make it work properly. Appears to be intended more for use on an AR type platform. Also the unit is extremely heavy. Description says 2 lbs, but seems like much more when holding up my rifle in firing position, way too big, bulky, cumbersome in my opinion. Range is quite disappointing, at least with the included IR Illuminator.

The only problem I encountered was that the eye relief was far too short for my rifle. The seller was very quick to respond and sorted it very quickly.
