Solid rack
Easy to put together. Took about an hour by myself. Quality materials. It comes with the tools you need to put together but a socket set with 10mm and 13mm sockets and a drill or socket wrenches will make the job faster.

It comes with a lot of nice extras that show StarTech has put more effort into its units than most of the knock-offs. It's made of very sturdy, powder coated steel. I really appreciate that it came with *all* of the tools that you will need to put it together -- including 2 wrenches and a Philips screwdriver. The instructions are well written and come in a nice little plastic pouch should you need them again. More than enough hardware included as well.
Be sure to measure your server before putting this together. I ended up going about six inches longer because of the measurements listed in the manual. Measure the mounting hardware of your server and make sure you get within a few inches of the fully-expanded rack-mounting. It wasn't too tough to adjust the size, though.
It works well with a Dell R710 server (see photo) and I plan to add beneath and possibly a fan/power-strip. It's supposed to be able to hold 1200 pounds and that's probably true. I'm not sure how easy it would be to move with that much weight. It's pretty hefty and the addition of a huge server makes it tough enough to move already. But it's not made to be mobile all the time. It's a good way to get things set up and put it in a cool closet when you are done.
I'm happy with this and I'd definitely buy from StarTech again. The quality is much better than what I expected. Solid 5 stars.

I had been considering the 8U version of this same rack for quite some time, but when Prime day rolled around, this 12U unit was actually on sale for less than the 8U rack.
