A formula stolen.
A president murdered.
A future threatened.

When governments and revolutionaries hold the keys to time, who is safe?

The Xi'an Liberation Society (XLS) banks on chaos. They exist to usurp the global Union government's power. Their methods toe the line between rebellion and terrorism...and they have just discovered a top secret Union project. Led by Marcus Kline, the XLS launches a calculated assault on history in order to annihilate the Union's future.

The only thing standing in their way is an elite team of time travel operatives: The Union Subdivision. But as the Subdivision attempts to preserve the past, they will reach their breaking point, and the clash of "timeslingers" will resound across centuries.

A story that's hard to stop reading, with a unique chapter format

A story that's hard to stop reading, with a unique chapter format
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It's a fun, complex adventure and an easy read. The chapter format is particularly interesting, based on a serial comic format. Bite size chapters that allowed for quick reading sessions e.g. on a bus ride, though I was more regularly pulled into the next section with anticipation. I can see how it'd also be fun to read week to week as new sections came out, but also not sure I'd have the patience. :)The illustrations from Nathan Scheck are a cool bonus, adding a touch of graphic novel experience.I was able to attend the book release party/podcast in Southern California and it was a fun event, where Jay Sherer gave some background on the motivations behind the book and origins of the story. He gave some sneak peak details of their upcoming book "Death of a Bounty Hunter", and I look forward to that.

Written to be read in small increments and at a quick pace, the story deftly employs several time travel tropes to great effect, and still provides an original story. Characterization is thin but good; it’s easy to invest in the characters, but there could be more. There’s also a few twists and turns that keep the story interesting. A satisfying read.

I liked the premise and so I grabbed this book to read in my downtime. I'm so glad I did. It's a fun, thought provoking read. I tried to put it down to do other things but found myself flipping it open again instead of doing what I should have been doing.

Time travel stories are an interesting problem from the writing standpoint. The Union and The XLS are fighting across time. The XLS wants to continue their goals, the union wants to stop them.

The end is why I gave it 3 stars. It's possible that the 3nd rendered the entire story moot. There wasn't enough info on what happens in a time change, or how it a really affects the future.

I think the author was looking to create a face-paced, sci-fi book here. What he produced was a choppy, clumsy tome with bluntly stereotypical characters and not enough explanation and/or techno-jargon to give the story any meat or show he did any research or actual deep brainstorming.

However, his TIMESLINGERS e-ads are EVERYWHERE, so I will give him credit for that.

I borrowed this book through my Amazon Kindle Unlimited account and was looking forward to reading it. Time Travel is one of my favorite genres. After reading the first chapters, I was really disappointed by the way the story and it's characters jumped around without much adhesion to any Storyline.
I eventually just returned this book to Amazon as it was just too confusing and disjointed, without ever finishing it. .

An easy to read and keep the time lines straight adventure into history and time travel. My only caution is the players are not well developed and I would forget who I should be rooting for. Be that as it may, it was a fun story to enjoy in one sitting.

This is a decent "time cop" style novel. It's pretty fast paced with a lot of action. It was a fun and quick read.

The only real gripe I have is that I would have liked to have even a little bit of explanation about who the XLS are and why they want to do the things they are doing.

Worth the read, but don't expect much depth.
