Alessandra Cascarano is a children’s book author with a passion for empowering young readers through heartfelt, inclusive stories that celebrate self-discovery, emotional intelligence, kindness, and more. A former elementary school teacher turned Community Schools Coach, Alessandra has dedicated her career to advocating for educational equity and building meaningful connections between students, families, and communities.

Alessandra’s love for picture books blossomed during her years as a teacher in Edgewood, Maryland, where she cherished using stories to teach powerful lessons. She often dreamed of one day writing her own books, even dressing up as a children’s book author on school spirit days to show her students that it’s never too late to dream big.

She believes every child deserves to see themselves reflected in the stories they read and to feel empowered by the messages within. Through her books, she hopes to teach valuable lessons, spark meaningful conversations, create opportunities for connection, and encourage readers to embrace who they are while exploring all they can become.

When she’s not writing, Alessandra enjoys reading, visiting family, and spending time with her partner and their dog, Wesley. A self-proclaimed resourceful crafter, she loves finding creative ways to repurpose everyday items—much to the amusement of her partner.

Alessandra is thrilled to share her stories with little hearts and minds everywhere.

Some had great pictures but were too wordy for a little one and others had good stories but ho hum pictures. THERES MORE TO ME has both. The story is told in catchy verse and the pictures are great.     I read this book to my students and WOW!! My students caught on quick to the rhythm of this story- keeping them so engaged and even guessing the rhymes! We rehearsed the affirmations at the end of the book together. Ur was such a powerful moment for us all! I loved the extension questions. I was able to learn more about students aspirations and interests. Some I would have never known without sparking conversation! I look forward to the books Alessandra writes in the future. This is definitely a must have for your classroom!
