    MotoBatt has pulled ahead of the field with motorcycle battery technology. They have easier fitment, higher Cold Cranking Amperage and totally maintenance free service. This is the seventh MotoBatt that I have bought for my fleet and for friends' bikes. Every one has given excellent service and none have shown any indication of failure. I left three bikes "snowed in" in my backyard shed, no power to run a battery charger or tender. All three bikes started right up after months of sitting. This battery PERFECTLY fits the battery tray in the BMW Oilhead models, actually fits BETTER than the OEM replacement which costs almost $45 more, is more powerful and has none of the instant-failure problems associated with the OEM "gel" battery. I wish everything in my life worked this well.

    I bought this for my '96 BMW R1100RT, after reading about them on different forums. While the packaging was a little on the iffy side (just a couple of those air packets in a cardboard box, with some room to move around), the battery seemed to arrive in good shape. Fit was as good as the OEM, though since there are 2 - and 2 + terminals you'll have to pay attention to which ones you want to use. The unused ones are capped with little plastic plugs. Since this battery is designed to fit many applications, it comes with a pair of brass terminal lugs that you'll have to bolt on, as well as 4 bolts. These lugs can be a little fiddlely, and it pays to hold them with a wrench while turning the bolts . They also didn't quite match up with the original battery lugs, though they were close. I didn't have any trouble with the + terminal, but had to unbolt the lug that was on the ground wire and bend the ground wire connector a bit to get it to mount to the battery. Also, since the lugs are threaded, you shouldn't need the original bolts or nuts, though I did reuse my + bolt. While its only been a few days, the battery has performed well, with a nice lack of ABS reset faults after
    startup. While this battery is more expensive than say, a Yuasa, it has more cranking amps, and seems well built. Only time will tell.
