I love how the book is broken down by perspectives and was written as if the author was having an authentic conversation with me. It comes with a beautifully laid out companion journal that guides you through your reading. I am so excited to share this experience with all of the beautiful black women in my life.

This book was long overdue and will make a great and thoughtful gift!

This is the first therapeutic book I’ve ever seen that is geared towards successful Black women. The spiritual component is lovely. I really loved that any spiritual path or religion fits the narrative of this book. The processing questions at the end of each chapter are so helpful. The tone of the book is very conversational and warm. The reader will learn a lot while also feeling like they just had a deep conversation with a close friend. It was such a helpful resource for me to get back on track. The companion journal asked such good questions and facilitated thorough processing of the book material. As a Marriage and Family therapist, I will definitely be using this book with clients.

Reading this book was like getting expert advice from the author herself. I felt seen, I felt heard, and most of all, I felt connected to everything that was said in this book! I love how the author shares her own struggles being a Black woman in a world that doesn't always see us. And I appreciated the practical steps and reflections that were added to each chapter - it allowed me to go deeper than just reading the material, but really challenged me to synthesize it with my life. This is a must read for any Black woman who has every felt invisible but knew that she had so much to offer the world!

From the FIRST chapter, I found myself thinking "She is talking about ME" or "It's not just ME". I LOVED the frank, "conversational" style of the author. I felt like I was talking to or listening to one of my friends. Early in the the book she advices that this is not a "vacation read" the book you grab to fall asleep with on the plane and it's not. For me it's a "workbook", one that I know that I will be referencing and checking back in with for a while. I plan to share this book with my daughter and sisters and sister-friends. I LOVE IT.

It’s nice sometimes to just pick up a book as black women that’s dedicated to black women from a black woman. I love how she has a nice balance between becoming aligned with your higher self spiritually, and mixing it in with as she calls it her “therapsiy” talk to help you guide yourself along this journey called life. Some chapters definitely made me have to really sit back and reflect and other chapters had me fighting back tears because she put how I feel into actual words so eloquently. I will highly be recommending this book to my friends/ family members.

This book opened my eyes and helped me to realize my own power and self worth. The author is relatable and makes you feel as though she is a good friend giving you the advice you so desperately needed. This was my nightly read and I found that I slept more soundly knowing that I am enough and I woke each day with a smile and a plan of action. I highly recommend this book.

This book gave me my whole life! I am excited that we are having these discussions about Black Women and mental health & spirituality. There are so many aspects that i could relate to. Healing trauma and old mindsets is not easy, but this book is a good starting place! Thank you for thinking about us. And the companion book helped me process what I read in order to put what I learned into action. I 100% recommend this book!
