About this item

  • 【High-End Carbon Material】The composition of carbon fiber in each leg size is optimized, and the thinner leg adopts high-modulus carbon fiber to make the leg more rigid, more stable and strong, and it can easily cope with the outdoor use environment.
  • 【180° Reflex Design】By placing the central axis and the ball head inside the folded tripod legs, the use of the folding space is more efficient. The tripod folded length is only 16 inch and weight 2.97lbs, you can easily put it on your camera backpack or carry it in your luggage without worrying that it cannot be with you everywhere.
  • 【Detachable Monopod】When you need to track various large-scale activities or sports events quickly and flexibly, it can be quickly converted into a monopod for use. By directly installing the ball head on the monopod, you can easily capture the required photos or videos without space limitations.
  • 【Low Angle Shoting】Through structural optimization, a quick-removable central axis is configured. By quickly inverting the center axis, the camera can be closer to the ground for low-angle or macro photography of plant or insect,or other creative photography.
  • 【Fast Operating System】360 degree metal ball head and the quick release plate are locked by knobs, and the whole quick release plate is compact, light and fast, and it has a strong compatibility, which can be applied to most Arca-Swiss quick release plates; 1/4" screw is suitable for most cameras, DSLR camera, projector and telescope, etc.

Interference between QR Plate and Handle
4 Stars
Interference between QR Plate and Handle
The tripod is two pounds lighter than the one I had been using and much shorter when collapsed. I really like that! However, when I tilt the camera head towards the locking nut, there can be interference with the base of the quick release plate. I've discovered that you can pull out the spring loaded handle to reset its location but there are two issues with doing that. 1. Its tedious and with my big hands, hard to get in there, and; 2. I'm right handed and it seems like the handle was placed on the wrong side. I have to work it with my left hand. Turning the camera around to swing the handle to the right puts it ahead of the camera where it's difficult to see, not to mention that the ball slot (used to clear the ball stem and tilt the camera forward) is now at the back of the camera. Pretty much useless there unless you take photos of the sky. I considered swapping out the Manfrotto ball head from my other tripod as it has the tightening handle at the rear, easily accessible but I felt like I would lose the weight advantage. So, I probably wouldn't have bought this if I had know how inconveniently placed all the control/tightening handles were, but again, I do like the weight savings.WEEKS LATER: After using this tripod for awhile I’m getting used to avoiding the design issues that caused the interference. However as a product designer myself I recognize that “workaround” should not be in a design engineers vocabulary. K&F contacted me and told me they have discussed the design issues with the team. As a result I’ve added a star to the rating.

1.0 out of 5 stars After one year
Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2022
When I first bought this tripod, I would have rated it 5 stars. It checked all the boxes for me. Light weight carbon fiber, sturdy ball head, packs small, converts to a monopod, extends to eye level, generous max weight limit, reasonable price. Then I took it on a 10 day trip to Yellowstone and used it with a 6.5 lb. camera and lens combo. But the next time I wanted to use it, I noticed that there was now significant play from where the center column attached to the leg assembly. My camera, although only about a third of the max weight rating for this tripod had worn out the plastic bushing inside the screw down clamp. OK, no biggie, it’s easily replaced. But then I hit a wall. The manufacturer, Kent Faith won’t send me one. After multiple request messages, they did send me a video explaining why I shouldn’t use it with the center column raised. Which is a deal breaker unless I want to spend a day in the wild crouching behind the camera. So now it’s only good for holding a speed light or reflector if I ever wanted to do that. But for night photography or long exposure photography, it’s now too shaky. Because of its fragility and lack of repair parts, I am now rating it at the lowest rating, one star.

UPDATE
Five weeks and 2 days from my original request to K&F, and with no other communication from them, I received a package with the needed bushing and quickly restored my tripod to it's original condition. But due to the poor customer service and its fragility under moderate use,I still would not recommend it.
