This is a very detailed and advanced read. Not designed for the everyday reader. This was assigned for the Advanced Aqidah class for a Masters's degree program in Islamic Studies. Designed for Students of Knowledge. Great book.

It is a very good book on the subject. The content is highly technical in style.

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring

Montgomery Watt is easily the greatest western scholars in the study of the Islamic History. He provides excellent analysis of the history of the religion and its people from a sociological perspective. However, I find his writing style to be dry, dull and excruciatingly boring.
