After wasting so much time struggling with several other brands of packaging/boxing tape, I tried this Gorilla brand. Perfect! I could feel the stress leave my shoulders when I first used it. No joke. If you get frustrated wasting SO much time trying to get your tape to roll out because it's too thin to stay in one piece without splitting, and splitting some more, get Gorilla. Nice and thick. It does NOT split and waste so much tape over the life of the roll. Thos is the best!!!

I tried Duck brand extra strength packing tape (totally useless: peels off after 1 day) and two kinds of Scotch. The basic Scotch also peeled off and was so thin I would accidentally tear it by mistake. The Scotch “Long Lasting” is much better and I’m using for boxes that will be opened right away.

For anything that will be in storage or for more valuable loads, I’m using this Gorilla tape. Excellent.

The wider tape is great! The dispenser is sturdy and easy to use and refill. The tape is strong and sticks well. We box and ship a lot. I used to be a fan of Scotch but lately their products seem flimsy and don't stick well. I am so happy we switched to Gorilla! And it's less expensive in the end because we use less.

Update: I purchased this item again from Amazon, and it came in the same packaging but the quality had decreased considerably. It is much thinner (similiar to regular packing tape) and crackled loudly as I removed the tape. Maybe they were trying to improve its adhesion because that is something I have noticed has improved. I still miss the original product! I can't stand the loud crackling sound when you are using regular packing tape. I honestly didn't even notice it bothered me until I tried this product. It was quiet and smooth as tape was removed.

I used to waste my money on packing tape usually bought from a post office, and would inevitably lose the end of it after cutting it, and would be using finger nails to attempt to dig out the end of the tape, oftentimes, not able to do this, so a waste of money. even with the tape that was on a roller, same problem, wouldn't tear easily and was awkward; gorilla tape, this one with the roller, is made well, tape slides easily off the roller, tears easily with the metal teeth, sticks great on parcels, great size - width - and will be my only tape bought from now on, highly recommend this

I used the item to effectively "laminate" some items. The tape had an impressive grip and the quality and thickness of it was very evident. I also taped some cardboard boxes which it did not stick as well to as they were quite dusty but it served the purpose intended so it was not a loss.
