    Is anyone out there completely free of a nagging voice inside their own mind — occasional or perpetual — that criticizes, overthinks, worries, or minimizes them? I found this book to be an honest tale of serious struggle redeemed by the author’s discovery of mindfulness and yoga practices. She is not preachy; the tone is that of a good friend sharing her dark and bright moments, admitting that quieting her Inner Mean Girl is the work of a lifetime. I also bought a copy of "Brain Bitch" for a 30-something friend who has struggled with depression, and I’m sure she will read compassion and hope in its pages. Highly recommended.

    What a great little gem of a book. It's a quick read and one I'll probably refer back to several times. (I regret not buying it in paper form so I can annotate it.) I really connected with chapters 13 and 14 (Protections and Unmet Expectations). In a nutshell this book explains how to quiet the negative thoughts that we receive every day about everything in our lives. At times I think some of the advice or examples was written just for me and the brain b*tch thoughts I have running thru my head.

    I believe that there are many who struggle daily with the notion that the voice telling them that they are not good enough is who they are. This book tries to show the reader that this is not the case. With real world stories, analogies, and advice 'Brain Bitch' aims to show the reader that they don't just have to fight the inner self, but are already strong enough to win. This book helps unlock something within readers, which can help the reader show themselves who they really are and the inner strength they possess. I think anyone who struggles with this inner voice or anyone who doesn't understand what makes themselves who they are could have a better outlook on themselves and life with help from this spectacular read.
