What's New Features in 3rd Generation A029

  • Self-test Function When AC Plug On --3rd Generation A029 has CPU inside, CPU will do self-test when AC power on. It will test control circuit and LED circuit,fan etc. During selftest, the blue and white channel leds will fade on and fade off quickly within 10s. So it is normal that led flash one by one after AC plug on.
  • Build-in Timer -- 3rd Generation A029 support Timer. It can set 1-24 working Hours per day. Touch the timer and can change the working hours from 1 hour to 24hours. Please note that timer starts when AC plug on. The screen will show working hours.
  • Sunrise/Sunset support --3rd Generation A029 has Sunrise / Sunset functions. After customer set working hours and brightness, please turn the sunrise /sunset switch on, A029 will do sunrise. It will be weak and change brighter and brighter like run rise. Long time touch Timer button to turn switch ON or OFF. When switch is on, the white channel will flash three times. When switch is off, the blue channel will flash three time. The default setting is OFF. Please note that the timer starts when AC plug on. If the sunrise switch is on, A029 will do sunrise. So it will very weak at start, please wait 30min. A029 brightness will change into the setting brightness after sunrise. The lamp will run sunset function before turning off. Sunrise and Sunset period is 30minutes.
  • Intelligent Fan Control-- 3rd Generation A029 can control fan on/offf. If there is no led working, the fan will stop working.
  • New Wider Rack-- updated rack clamp is wider and it can support Rimmed tank and Rimless tank.
  • Display screen--3rd Generation A029 support screen, it can show working time and channel brightness.

Recommanded Setting of A029

  1. Install A029 and rack on your tank.
  2. Plug on A029. (A029 will do selftest first when power on. It will test the control circuit , leds, fan etc. the leds will fade on and off one by one). It is normal when led bulbs flash when power on.
  3. Touch timer button to set working hours per day. You can change hours by touching timer button many times.
  4. Touch "W" to set white channel brightness. Touch "B" to set blue channel brightness
  5. Long time touching timer to turn sunrise / sunset switch ON or OFF. Please note, if you want sunrise at 7:00am, you need plug on at 7:00am.

Touch Control Aquarium Light

  • Click the "W" button (W) to adjust the white light intensity.
  • Click the "B" button (B) to adjust the blue light intensity.
  • Long time touch "Timer" button to turn sunrise /sunset on or off. ON-white leds flash 3 times. OFF-blue leds flash 3 times.

How to turn on the light?

  • Make sure the light AC pluged on.
  • Click W and B button at the same time.

How to turn off the light?

Unplugged the power or click 'W' and 'B' button at the same time.

How to check the brightness of A029 new version

The brightness in first 30min (the sunrise period) is not strong, it is weak and changed from 1% to the setting brightness such as 80% or 100%. This period is sunrise time, the brightness is weak at first, it will change into strong bright evenly. Please check the final brightness after 30min sunrise time.

A029 for Nano Reef Tank

Updated A029 support sunrise and sunset. The changing period is fixed 30minutes.

Timer start when AC plug on, after setting and A029 will do sunrise first, brightness will changed smoothly. At first, brightness is very weak from 1% to setting. A029 will do sunset before turn off, the brightness of leds will be weaker and weaker.

Note: If you want sunrise in the morning, please plug AC on in the morning.

Warm Tips:

  • 3rd Generation Version, the fan will stop running when turn off the light [ Click the W button and B button at the same time could turn off the light] or channels are off when running in the night with no any leds bulb on.
  • Old version, the fan only stop running when plug off the power.
  • First 30minutes is sunrise time after sunrise switch on.The brightness will change from 1% to setting. it is weak at first then stronger and stronger like sunrise.

For the price it's a pretty good light for my 13.5gal tank but sadly the blue lights stopped getting as bright as they used to out of nowhere. I do have the 2nd Gen not the 3rd so hopefully that has been resolved. Will give it a shot.Reached out and the company is helping me with replacement of device.New light came in super quick and the new display along with more control over light and timer is a huge improvement

They are performing on a timer power strip (not included but also on Amazon) and I love them. 4 of these is the price of one used kessil…. I am getting around 400 par near the top of the rock work and 170 on the sand bed and a little lower in the corners of the tank. At full power it’s around 500 par-225par so you can adjust these for almost every coral type. I keep them clean and they run great.

This light provides decent flexibility and PAR for a nano reef tank. I measured PAR with varied settings (white and blues) and found a sweet spot for my tank setup. At full brightness (100% whites and blues) and the light at the lowest height possible for the light above the water, I measure around 400 PAR just below the surface of the water (6" below the light and about an inch under water). Near the bottom of my 12 gallon all in one, PAR drops to around 200 at full bright. I set the lights to 40% white and 60% blue for 200 PAR at the top of my aquascape and 100 near the bottom where my leather corals live. I love the color and usability of the light but the sunrise and sunset mode is a joke. I have another LED light that doesn't match the PAR of this light, and the basic controller of that light has an amazing built in sunrise and sunset. This light comes on instantly, based on the start time, at some level of brightness less than the programmed setting. Then after some period of time (listing states 30 minutes) it jumps to the full programmed setting. It's not a gradual sunrise, just on. Sunset is the same. Some time before powering off, it drops to some level of brightness less than the setting, but same colors, not dimming to blues/moonlight. Then after the programmed time has passed, it shuts off completely. My other LED light would keep blues on very low for about 4 hours after the whites went off and I loved the look of the nightlight. The whole plug it in to start the timer feature is ridiculous as well. Holding down the white and blue light buttons turns the light on and off. How hard could it be to have a similar feature to set the start of the timer? Lastly, the mount is not designed to support a rimmed tank. I was able to make it work, but it really needs a spacer to properly mount on a rimmed tank. This one works fine overall but sunrise and sunset are just terrible. The price is great if you can accept how it works, but I'll keep looking for a replacement.

This is a very well designed, engineered, produced and finished device. ;0

The light fixture itself reminds one somewhat of a "VCR" cassette. approximately the same width and thickness and height but about two inches linger.

The "feel" of the light portion is nice and the finish on the "arm" is rather amazing, it really does feel rather like "skin" when one is handling it, it reminds this person of what is called a "powder" finish.

There are multiple screws with turning knobs, two large for the mounting bracket an "cap nuts' again, all well finished. A couple of the cap nuts were missing and the company replaced them quickly, .....arriving on a Sunday! :)

Since one will be manipulating it several times during it's lifetime having something pleasurable with which to work is a good thing in terms of repeat orders! :)

It has a set of VERY BRIGHT actinic lights and also blue lights of which I cannot opine but they do produce a very nice bright effect in the corals... Quite a "glow".

One fish which was acclimated to a "fluorescent" actinic ( which is not as strong ) went and hid under a coral but new ones did just fine with it.

I am also using it as a "test" for culturing algae, I teach college biology, and the algae are thriving! :)

One of the problems with raising algae in a laboratory / classroom situation is that of it being a multi -use room and I plan to make an "L" frame upon which I will attach this so that the materials can be moved as necessary.

The power cord is quite long, 6 feet approximately with a "banana plug" in the middle so that one can get a setting correct on the light itself and not have to turn it on and off when entering and exiting the room.

And the reason for that is...

The light fixture uses two "touch pad" buttons ( on the top ) with a plus sign and a minus sign, to cycle through pure blue light to the white "actinic" mode. This is a great thing in that it produces a situation rather like " a dimmer" but at no extra cost or extra device which can fail and that, again, in a laboratory / classroom setting a teacher can change the lighting for a particular use and another professor can so do also.

The only slight criticism that I might have is that it might be nice to include maybe "two" ( 2 ) red LEDs in the follow on product but that, in and of itself, presents engineering problems and also USER problems in that another button would have to be added for the red LEDs and the USER would have manipulate three buttons. The best fit answer might be...a remote....but again, that presents problems in terms of getting lost, battery acid messing it up and such....so..maybe the best thing is to let an already good thing alone. :)

All in all it is VERY well designed, I would recommend it for anyone who needs some kind of design that is not attached to "the underside of a shelf"; and I will be purchasing another for use in the laboratory.

 This light is good and its bad so far for me I’ve experienced the good and i can say the light does what it needs to do (when its on). Once i turn the light of the way it states to do it in the manual book it turns off but when you go back to turning it on… it turns on for a few seconds and goes back to powering off. I dont have it set on any modes. Tried contacting seller but no answer. Its a 50/50 product love the design but really annoyed that i have to keep unplugging it to recycle the set up so it turns on or turns after being turned off.
