Loved it! I have read several of Nadia's book and always come back for more! I loved this one. It was just perfect amount. I love how she adressed mental illness but not to overwhelming to trigger my own mental helath (speaking for my self on that one as everyone's different). Erin and David's story is so sweet!

I have been a fan of Nadia Lee’s book for a better part of year. She’s writes books with drama, romance, diversity and lots and lots of humor. I look forward to her new releases and they’re always on my endless lists of books to read.
This book is about David Darling and Erin Clare. She’s David’s soft spoken assistant who loves to bake or as David would say poison him. The two have families ..... one loving and the other manipulative . Both families want them to get married soon and settle down. The two come up with a plan to fake an engagement after the press link them together. David is from the previous books in the Darling series and even some of the Pryce family series. He’s been one of my favorite characters. I love this book because it talks about the taboo of mental illness and suicide. It touches on the importance of support and not making depression something to be ashamed of. The author writes on the subject in a way that is respectful and educational. The two have a slow, but sweet romantic build up. I usually like the hot and fast, but felt it necessary with such a important topic. There is definitely a bit of drama from exes, and some really witty humor. This can be read as a standalone and had a HEA.

Erin is appalled when she is approached by her worse nightmare at the gala. Her previous boyfriend is determined that she marry him. In order to escape both of their exes, Erin and David decide to fake an engagement. But David has decided that he wants the relationship to be real. Now how can he convince Erin?

I loved this book. The characters are amazing. David's reactions to Erin's baking are hilarious. Can't recommend this author and book enough!

Nadia Lee has created a fascinating world where her characters live intertwined with one another in a web of family and friendships. Storylines cross and co-mingle to give unparalleled depth and captivate the reader. Nadia Lee’s books are binge worthy and beg to be devoured.

Quick Notes on Mister Fake Fiancé:
-Complete HEA (grab the bonus epilogue for even more to love!)
-No cheating (or even the discussion of other people. Loved that!)
-Mental health is a theme (depression, suicide, ‘crazy’ , mental illness, etc)

David and Erin have an adorable romance in this slow-burn romance. It didn’t feel like the typical ‘trick everyone for image sake’ fake fiancé trope, the image took a quick back seat to the need for them just to be. Even though it could have gone the rich alpha-boss route, David was sweet, thoughtful, and understanding throughout.

Fans of Dane and Sophia, Yuna, Jo, Jan and Matt, and all the Darlings will LOVE this story.

I only wish there was more! I feel like there could have been a few more chapters during the resolution. (okay... maybe I just want more of their cuteness!)

The book was ok but too much inner dialogue. Erin to me was treated really bad by her own father and an ex that wanted to use her to get sympathy votes. Erin was dealing with shame and self doubt about her future health and happiness from the lies her dad and ex kept telling her. I am so glad she got away from them. They were toxic preying on her like that. David was Erin's boss. He had not noticed her before in a romantic way. He knew she was a loner and really didn't talk much to others. I would have liked more scenes with David and Erin and the family. Why didn't anybody tell her that her baking was bad.

I was honestly expecting the enemies to lovers trope that usually comes along with these boss/assistant romances. However, David wasn’t a bosshole, just really a typical boss that wanted his assistant to help show off to his ex for one night and fell for her piece by piece, or drop by drop he might say.

Erin definitely had some deep seeded confidence issues. There were times she got a bit on my nerves with just how insecure she was. However, her baking was some of the funniest material in the book (besides the scene where David had to buy her tampons in the middle of the night).

Overall a sweet romance read.

This book marks the return to the world of Sweet Darlings Inc. This time around the story comes courtesy of David Darling and his assistant Erin Clare. Readers first get introduced to David in his cousin Jan’s story The Man Next Door. However, you get to learn more about him. Then we are also introduced to his assistant Erin. Outside of baking and assistant duties, Erin pretty much keeps to herself. I am trying to keep this spoiler-free, but this story wouldn’t be complete with drama. Drama comes courtesy of David’s ex Shelly, Erin’s arrogant politician dad, and ex Warren. So, the duo comes with the solution of fake engagement. As the story progresses you get to see how a fake engagement develops into a real one. Of course, the story couldn’t end without a few appearances from fan favorites (i.e. Yuna, Dane & Sophia Pryce.). Margot Blackwood has another member of Nadia Lee’s Horrible Parent Club (patent pending) to keep her company in Erin’s father. He definitely comes a close second to her reigning number one spot. I also like how the author addresses serious issues while weaving romance and humor as well. Overall, I enjoy their story. Looking forward to reading Flirting with the Rock Star Next Door next.

Nadia Lee did it again! I loved Mister Fake Fiance so so much and could not put it away. This book made me laugh, swoon and even cry. The protagonists were both very likable

David: every woman deserves a David. Really! I fell in love with this character. David is funny, romantic, compassionate, smart and protective. He was so good to Erin and the way he could always see that something was wrong and see beyond her mask just shows how attentive he is.

Erin: I love how Nadia Lee is always bringing such different characters into live. Each protagonist in her books are so different and this one was a really unique story (or maybe that is just me). I loved Erin‘s background story and how this added a twist into the whole story. Her character was (for me) very likable - smart, passionate about her job and backing, and strong.

Overall this was a great story and a great read. It was wonderful to get away from the realy to „Nadialand“, the Darlings and the Pryces - even only for a couple of hours.

I loved the main characters but what really helped round it out perfectly were his family and friends who were so supportive of both David but also of Erin, which she needed just so much
