DESCRIPTION

Niseko Backcountry is the first-ever comprehensive 1:25000 scale English-Japanese topographical backcountry ski map covering the Niseko Range, Mt. Yotei, and Mt. Shiribetsu in southern Hokkaido, Japan. All the classic backcountry routes for skiing and boarding are included in stunning detail on tear-resistant waterproof paper.

Using high-detail Japanese government topographical map data and captivating cartography, the map outlines over 50 backcountry ascent and descent ski routes in the unique, powder-paradise volcanic terrain of the Niseko region.

The map includes comprehensive information about safety, terrain, weather, and parking. Includes aerial photos of popular backcountry runs. QR codes are included for detailed route guides posted on HokkaidoWilds.org.

Printed in Japan on Japan-made, tear-resistant, waterproof, recyclable paper. Sold folded (11cm x 22cm).

I love that this map exists and removes some of the uncertainty for folks touring the are. Hopefully this will prompt people to use it wisely and plan not only their trip, but how to be respectful and responsible in the area while traveling. I know this map has sparked some debate with locals. Let’s show them we can care for and maintain the beautiful area and be great diplomats for whatever country we are representing!
