The OE Series OE-690D was developed to replace old and worn-out paper cone woofers in many late-model vehicles providing you with tight accurate bass response in a much longer-lasting form that is offered from the factory. Utilizing a dual voice coil design, the OE-690D can accommodate a 20 or 89 impedance needed by the OEM amplifier. I ordered these speakers to replace the factory 6x9 bass drivers that are no longer available for my car. They were not exactly a direct fit, the factory speakers had smaller magnets and shallower structures, but after slightly changing the way the factory drivers were mounted these fit. They have plenty of low frequency output for a 6x9, and are easily configured for 2 Ohm operation with the supplied wiring. Compared to the factory speakers, these do have lower extension in their frequency response and have what I would call a faster presentation. For example, kick drums have a cleaner leading edge to the sound in comparison to the drivers they replaced. These also seem to be pretty efficient, I had to turn the bass down a little compared to stock. If you need a 6x9 that can be wired to have a 2 Ohm impedance, these are a great option.

I have a '15 Jeep Patriot and it's stock sound was terrible. I added Pioneer component speakers, about 2 years ago, to the front and loved the new setup, but recently have been craving a bit more "full sound", so I bought these to replace the 5 1/4" speakers that came with my component set. They sound great, way clearer audio since adding them and more bass. Not explosive bass, if you have a stock system and you are expecting these to rattle your brain, look elsewhere. These are great for adding more mid to your system with a full bass sound, but it doesn't bump. Especially if you have a passive system!

This is a great addition to a system you want to build. If you just want to add bass to your car, purchase a powered subwoofer for $100, not this.

I was “ remodeling “ the sound system on our Lexus SC430 with the mark Levinson sound system.
I got these to replace the bass “ woofers “ in the doors.
As you may know, this system uses 8 Ohms speakers and anything else might over heat the stock amplifier and eventually burn it out.
These are 8 Ohms so it’s a perfect match.
The actual size is 6x9 but some minor trimming is require to the stock speakers mounting rings to perfectly fit ( super easy to do ).
The sound quality is 100% perfect, nice deep lows and super clear.
I highly recommend these speakers for the Lexus Mark Levinson system ( I think they also fit the system in the LS 430 )
Note :
This is a dual coils speakers. In order to get the require 8 Ohms you just need to follow the ( provided ) instruction and wire them accordingly, they even supply all the wiring to do so, completely plug and play.

Not a direct factory fit to a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 (front door speaker location). The factory Infinity 6x9 (front door speaker location) has a narrower frame, and the door opening is rolled to fit that Infinity frame. These are too large, physically, to fit in the opening, even though the screw holes line up well (but the factory screw heads are a bit too large for these speakers, and the screws provided with these speakers are a different pitch and slightly narrower than the factory speakers, but work OK anyway; they do provide new clips, but I didn't change them out). I used a ball-peen hammer to "reshape" the factory door locations, and still it wasn't quite enough, and the speakers sit spaced 1/4-1/2" out from the door frame (also, the hammering removed the factory paint, leaving the bare steel exposed; I could have covered that with something, but I didn't bother, since it's a 14-year-old truck). Sound quality is adequate, better than the 14-year-old, blown-out factory speakers for sure. Watch the wiring, too, to make sure it's tight to the speaker and the window won't clip it on the way down (broke one of the factory jacks off the plastic on my first install, but the wire to the voice coil itself was still intact, so I carefully maneuvered it out of the way of both the speaker and the lowering window).
