You know what you can’t stop? Progress. Parker Duque had everything, a trust fund, fake ambition, and a beautiful girlfriend. Then he lost it all. Would this rich kid sink or swim?

When we catch up with the former trust-funder, Parker had, against all odds, become a self-made man. After years and years of hard work, he’s just banked a modest fortune selling out to his partners.

The euphoria wouldn’t last though. The same day his “Big Deal” closes, Parker discovers his wife’s been cheating on him and the world’s about to be blown in two.
By aliens(?). Can you imagine what it must be like to have everything, lose everything, then build it back yourself through years and years of hard work, only to lose it all again? To aliens? It was hard for Parker too.

With only a week (or two) left, would Parker Duque save the world?

“F*** that.” Parker Duque was a realist. There were a number of things Parker wanted to do with his last two weeks alive, and trying to save the planet wasn’t one of them. First things first, Parker had to escape Dusty and Peaches, an odd pair of CIA agents on an end of the world mission (this time for sure).

Peaches, despite her morbid obesity, was an accomplished hitwoman with impossible athleticism, and Dusty, despite his small stature, had a vise-like grip and moved through the shadows like a gazelle. A tiny gazelle. Parker knew the quick-tempered little man and the largest woman he’d ever seen in comfort shoes would prove a formidable duo...

Can Parker Escape? What will he do if he does? Is it really the end of the world? Buckle up, it’s a wild and hilarious ride the entire way through…

The cover has an F-bomb in a toilet and “sophomoric” in the title. So you expect a fun, silly, book that speaks to your inner teenager and his sense of humor. This is definitely that, and a lot more. It has great characters, outrageous situations, and a whole bonus “story in a story” that’s really sweet and touching. The author clearly has a vivid imagination and tells a great story. Bravo to him.
And good for you if you pick this up or give it as a gift!

Parker Duque is another in a long line of great American storytellers. In the vein of John Kennedy Toole or John Irving, his characters are bombastic, abrasive, and colorful and will have you at once scratching your head and on the verge of wetting yourself from laughing so hard. Completely enjoyed this book and looking forward to what's next from this burgeoning talent!

Great opening gambit for a new author. Rarely do you get to know so many characters so well in a comedy. Multiple story lines, riches to rags to riches, aliens, rogue secret agents, long lost love, life lessons, road trips and self discovery. I’ll never look at cows or subway sandwiches the same way.

There is a bit of potty humor in a side-story, which is usually not my thing, but it is entirely appropriate through the eyes of the child telling the story (the child is roughly the same age as my son, so i speak from experience). I even used a few lines from the book with him which went over well.

Hope to see this cast again.

You got to pick this up what a great read. Ok Parker please put out the next book!

There are books and movies and shows that you just laugh at. Or with. This book is that, but it also provides a perfect juxtaposition of poignancy, of a heartfelt intertwined story, interjected with the perfect love affair between two humans destined for each other. Is it gross? Yes! Dirty? Yes! Super inappropriate? Awesomely so! Read it to find out. It’s stuck with me for a while now. Well done, Parker.

I love books that bounce between multiple story lines and this is an excellent example. One story a wild, zany, hilarious ride, and the other story a heartfelt look at our core values, through the eyes of a young boy. Some parts Christopher Moore, some parts John Steinbeck. Check it out, you won't put it down. Great book Parker Duque, you have me hooked.
