I taped a strip of rug tape onto a strip of wide masking tape, to make a nonskid phone rest. The side access works well, the two inner pockets are a good size for small items, the base width to pouch height ratio ensures the stability. One could easily use this as a wristlet-style handbag, as it has room for small accessories for coins, cards, personal items, etc. -- that's if you don't have it stuffed with all your pens, markers, and washi tapes.
