I just tried these on a week-long vacation and they made ALL the difference in the world. You will NOT be disappointed and will appreciate the ability it gives you to safely navigate with crutches or a cane if heading to the beach. I broke my lower leg / ankle a few weeks before vacation to the beach. I searched online for information and options about sand and crutches and discovered these SandPads. I took a leap of faith and purchased them. They made all the difference in me being able to be on the beach with my kids and even feel the sand and water on the toes of the foot I could stand on. Even used these on the walkway and pavers to / from the beach and near the pool. I was asked about them regularly and a few older people where we stayed ended up buying them for their canes! It took determination and upper body strength to go through the sand, yes, but even if you go a few steps and pause, your balance and mobility are amazing with these. I am so glad we purchased these and hope more people discover them.

Got this to enjoy a day out on a beach with co-workers. Originally, I had planned to reserve a beach wheelchair (some California beaches offer free rental in exchange for your ID) but the beach that day was more packed than usual, and I decided an alternative was needed. Amazon prime allowed me to get them right away :)

I had been using regular crutch tips already, but was concerned of the crutches sinking into the sand and possibly losing my balance. These devices proved great and easy to use, and they definitely helped me have a steady "walk". There were no problems attaching them at all. I had planned on removing them once I was on the flat boardwalk, but they turned out to be just as good as on the sand. I would even venture to say they are better than the tips that come along with the crutches. I kept these on instead.

After a weekend's use, I can say I definitely appreciated the wider base that allows better stability. It impressed the physical therapist that I went to so much, that she asked if she could take a pic of it (she took a shot of my Amazon orded). The wider base also means they dont fall easily to the side.

I recently purchased the cane attachment for use to walk on the beach. It worked perfectly and was very sturdy when walking. I highly suggest to the manufacturer that you update this product to have a diameter that will fit canes without the use of tape on the cane to make it fit. That should be an easy fix. For users just remember that use of this will be on a dedicated cane, not to put on or off. I placed masking tape around the outside to ensure a good hold.

Our trips to the beach have been curtailed by my spouse's mobility issues. I got this to use in the sand, but he likes it so much he uses it all the time.

We did not expect the stand-alone feature to work with the big swoopy-handled cane he uses, but it does!

I was concerned that the wide base would be a logistical problem (bonking into feet when walking, hard to get in the car, etc.) but that has not been the case. I also worried about it falling off. That has not been a problem either. The tape provided to adapt smaller sizes has been perfect.

Of course the downside of that is that you can't easily swap this tip among various canes.

I'm almost afraid to say this out loud, but he has been walking better overall since he switched to this cane tip. I can't say enough about how well-designed it is.

I bought a set of two so that my aunt and I could both use one for our trip to the beach. I have Fibromyalgia and often suffer weakness just walking, let alone through the sand. My normal cane tip just gets lost in the sand and doesn't offer a lot of support, so I thought I'd try the SandPad. I'm so glad I did! Though I was at first worried about the weight of the SandPad tip, it wasn't remotely an issue for me and only served to balance my cane so it could stand on it's own. My cane fit perfectly into the SandPad without needing adjustment, but my aunt's smaller cane needed to use the included spacing tape (which was a cinch to use). We were at the beach for a week and I would not have been able to endure that much time in the sand without the SandPad. It was easy to walk with and gave me the support I needed to balance, giving me greater endurance for the trip. I highly recommend this product. It works better than advertised and is well designed to give better freedom to those of us needing a bit more support.
