My Big TOE: Discovery: Book Two of a Trilogy Unifying Philosophy, Physics, and Metaphysics Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

4.6 out of 5 stars 243 ratings

My Big TOE, written by a nuclear physicist in the language of contemporary culture, unifies science and philosophy, physics and metaphysics, mind and matter, purpose and meaning, the normal and the paranormal. The entirety of human experience (mind, body, and spirit) including both our objective and subjective worlds is brought together under one seamless scientific understanding.

Book 2: Discovery

Section 3 develops the interface and interaction between we the people and our digital consciousness reality. It derives and explains the characteristics, origins, dynamics, and function of ego, love, and free will. It derives our larger purpose. Finally, Section 3 develops the psi uncertainty principle as it explains and interrelates psi phenomena, free will, love, consciousness evolution, reality, human purpose, entropy and physics.

Section 4 lays out an operational and functional model of consciousness that further develops the results of Section 3 and supports the conclusions of Section 5. The origins and nature of digital consciousness are described. Our physical universe, our science, and our perception of a physical reality are logically derived. The mind-matter dichotomy is solved as physical reality is directly derived from the nature of digital consciousness.

Fabulously intriguing, I had never considered life as part of a super-massive computer simulation that's actually a virtual computer that is part of a multi-layered thought experiment in the mind of God or AUM as the author likes to say. That the essence of everything is consciousness rather than material and from a mathematical point of view, the essence of everything is digital.
It was a very good read and though it was certainly deep and scientific, it was also a good readable story with plenty of wit and humor. He mixes it up nicely in a way that gave my mind a break. But make no mistake, your mind will be significantly stretched beyond its normal boundaries when you are finished. There is no way a person can consider the concepts in this book without having to think outside the box. It's the kind of book one needs to re-read from time to time to get the most out of it.

The My Big Toe trilogy is something anyone wanting a whole new explanation and approach to understanding the universe and our place in in should invest the time to ready this trilogy. The Theory of Everything (TOE) combines philosophy, physics, and metaphysics to help explain reality in ways that religions, politics, cultures, and our limited senses cause us to completely misunderstand. This series emphasizes learning for yourself in an applied scientific manner, not taking the word of groups, institutions, and handed-down traditions as unchallenged truth.
The books are very well written in an articulate manner, but it may take two or three reads for the concepts of this series to sink in because the way of thinking is completely out of our normal thought habits. Campbell is patient with readers who need multiple restatements of the same ideas for them to really sink in. The author knows these concepts don't come naturally, but if you come to understand them, they make more sense than any "tradtional" explanations you've learned from conventional sources.

This is an inspiring and ambitious undertaking by the author. I love the way reality is derived here by tying in interdisciplinary concepts like evolution, biology, & spirituality. If you're looking to see the world in a different light, this will do it. For people who are very logical and scientifically driven, parts of this will turn your skepticism meter on, but that is okay. I am still not 100% believing everything in this book, but I am living life much more open minded than before and coming up with my own conclusions.

This is not a quick or easy read. It is a great book full of information. Takeing it slow and steady helped me understand the points he was making. I feel like i have a better understanding on the true mechanics of reality and evolving consciousness from reading this book.

For anyone wanting to know what in the blue blazes we are here for, read scientist Thomas Campbell's book, My "Theory of Everything". Campbell trained under the legendary Bob Monroe. After reading Campbell's book, you will be changed forever.

I suggest watching some of his videos on You Tube first. You will get a better grasp of the trilogy. His T.O.E Theory Of Everything is a very difficult read. It is recursive and speculative to a fault. Though he warns several times to read the menu and eat the chow, he seems to fall into his own trap munching along on the paper and positing as the Truth of this scrumptious repast. Sorry, not my toe. Skepticism with an open mind is his motto. BUT, he has not figured out that MIND is not your friend. It is altogether something else which he ignores or is not at all aware of. His definition of consciousness...not developed even for a model. One will never define consciousness, never see it because it is one’s organ of sight. Oh well.

I totally understand the concept of this book and being someone who has had an interest in spirituality since my father passed in 1996 My Big Toe was something I was keen to get into. Sadly the book was way to complicated in terms of the language and explanations. After joining their online forum I was able to listen to the authors podcasts which I believe explained the whole theory in about an hour.

5.0 out of 5 stars The content is worth the effort

    My wife writes:
I'll write the same review for all three books because it's impossible to read only one and understand the complete picture.
The quality of the paperback books is very good: the binding is strong (probably because the author foresaw that it would withstand prolonged handling and occasional throwing at the walls), the paper is creamy white, and the printing is neat. The few pictures are black-and-white and well-readable.
The English is medium-high style, laced with colloquial ways of saying, requiring a very high level and broad breadth of comprehension of the English language. The mathematical and physical content is translated into current English without any jargon. The reader that the author has in mind and to whom he had aimed the language is a person of higher education, either scientific or humanistic, materialistic with a firm resolution of broadening their understanding of the Universe.

The author, whose love for humanity emerges only at the second reading of the three books, chose to make it impossible to browse the content. The titles of the chapters are metaphorically linked to the content; the definitions are rephrased many times. He made every effort to oblige the reader to read every page. He also uses repetition as a hammer to break through the reader's belief system. The content of three books could be reduced to one if all the repetitions were eliminated, but that single book could not reach the reader wrapped in their mindset.
Brace yourself to continue ironic pricking about "how much you think you understand, but in reality, you understand nothing". Even if it has been the reason for my losing patience with the author, I must say, in retrospect, that the biggest enemy of humanity is the blindness to the blindness induced by the belief system, and a constant reminder of this fact is the only way a writer has to warn the reader. The pricking peaks at the midpoint of the second book and then fades away.

This reading takes time, but it is worth the effort. The Big TOE of the author organises many subjective experiences into a working picture. The idea of subjective experiences with objective results is a precious gem that allows the researcher to broaden their field of study so much that all the “unknown” and “idiopathic” start to find answers.
The author also systematises the ways of personal growth so much that spiritual researchers can precisely place themselves and others, creating the basis for mutual understanding instead of the ongoing conflict between religion, spirituality, and spiritual traditions.
Two readings of these books are strongly suggested because the mind reading them the second time will not be the same that read them the first time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wahrscheinlich ein Fingerzeig in die richtige Richtung, aber mit Frustrationspotential ...
Reviewed in Germany on September 21, 2013
