This book is a great review book for kids 8+. There are very overarching concepts and short review exercises. I homeschool so this was a great intro or review book but not something to rely on for material. My kids really enjoyed some of the “fun facts” included in each section. The illustrations are very bright and colorful.

I bought this for a young student I tutor, and I think this is fantastic for young learners!

This book is very thorough and accurate. It goes into detail about each system of the body, rather than giving kids a superficial "you have skin on top of your muscles! Did you know you skin is an organ??" type information.
The activities are not very difficult, but do get kids starting to think about their bodies and how each part functions and integrates with each other.

Like any other material for kids, parents and guardians should be involved in the learning process. Remember to redirect kids (especially the younger ones) back to the educational content of the book, rather than just letting them look at the pictures without your guidance. Who knows, if you didn't do a lot of science in your education, you might learn something too.

I purchased this book for my 2nd grader, who has been learning about health and her body at school. I wasn't sure what to expect, but for the price I figured we would give it a shot.

It is a GREAT book to read with your kid. My husband is a nurse and loves to cover a section with our daughter. The book is broken into sections like skeletal system, muscular system, hair and skin and nails, the brain, immune system, etc. Each topic is clearly explained at a surface/beginner level, has illustrations that are labeled, and then offers an activity. It is not a high school biology level book. It is also not a preschool "this is your bone. This is your heart." It is an excellent science introduction for young elementary kids.

This book would likely be a bit too difficult for my 2nd grader to read and comprehend on her own, but it is great as something to share with her. The language of the book uses real terms but explains topics in a way that my 8 year old can understand clearly.

My daughter also loves to do the activities. So she only activity that she has needed assistance with is a crossword.

I was nervous to buy this as I’m very careful about what I show my children early on but also wanting to teach them parts of the body. My daughter is 6 and there are things I don’t need her to know for a few more years.

This book does a great job of telling about the human anatomy without going into more mature detail or pictures if you catch my drift. I haven’t got a chance to show my daughter, but I got excited as I think she’ll love it.

I have been using Katie's products and ideas from her blog for months now, and when she told us about this release I knew the quality it would contain and pre-ordered immediately. It did not disappoint. My 3 boys (ages 3-8) love learning about tons of different interesting facts in a way that makes sense to them. The graphics are very well done. My 8 year old says "You should get this book because it tells you a lot about your body and it has some fun games". Each of the 16 sections covered has pages of facts following by activity page(s) and hands-on "try this at home" to reinforce the content. The end includes both an excellent 2 page resource list, and an index containing over 140 different items (in a 68 page book!). Money well spent!
